COVID-19 critical situation in Iran worsens by the day. Daily death toll reached a new high since November 2020. According to manipulated data of Ministry of Health, 453 died of COVID-19 in the past 24 hours in Iran. Chairman of Tehran Corona Combating Committee sent a letter to the Health Minister complaining about some “national organizations” not enforcing restrictions. Dr. Zali asked Saeed Namaki to help with government organizations implementing health protocols properly. In other reports, Mashhad Mayor warned about “seriously critical” situation in the second biggest city of the country. Khuzestan hospitals remain at full capacity with no room left even in corridors and ERs. Qazvin officials announce the worst month in the coronavirus epidemic history, while patients are waiting for ICU beds. Tabriz is experiencing the same fate while hospitalizations have surpassed the third peak by 8%!
In the meantime, Islamic Republic coronavirus vaccination charade continues. 100,000 more doses of Sputnik V entered the country while FDA Spokesman claimed “cell bank” of the vaccine was part of the shipment. Jahanpur said the mass production of the Russian vaccine will begin in Iran by the end of spring. This “collaboration” has been postponed several times in the past. Islamic Republic officials have promised production of many vaccines by the end of spring!
Since February 09, only 667,202 shots have been administered with 148,298 being fully vaccinated. According to Ministry of Health, 518,904 have received only one dose. Islamic Republic officials had promised 1.3million vaccinated by March 20, then it was pushed back to April 20 and recently to April 26.
The Ministry of Health Spokesperson claimed 24,092 tested positive for the novel coronavirus in the past 24 hours in Iran. Iran Medical Board officials believe the real numbers are at least 3 times higher. Meanwhile, daily PCR tests reduced by 12,000 while positivity rate increased by 1.5% from the day before. Critical cases reached 5,038, most since December 31. Active cases keep breaking records every day, as seen on the graphs.
