Tsunami of coronavirus continues as provincial officials warn about full hospitals and increasing number of COVID-19 deaths in Iran. According to the manipulated data of Islamic Republic Ministry of Health, in the past 30 days, 543,097 tested positive for the novel coronavirus, an average of 18,103 per day. In the same time, 6,795 died of COVID-19, an average of 226.5 every day, 9.43 per hour.
Bushehr reports 3 times more positive tests in the past month than the peak in June last year. Hormozgan announced upward trajectory in cases and hospitalizations across the province. Kermanshah is preparing for a field hospital as it is running out of vacant beds for COVID-19 patients. In Qom, the number of deaths doubled in 24 hours, from 5 to 10.
The devastating situation in hospitals has not made the National Task Force to approve Tehran and other provinces’ request to lock down the cities for 2 weeks, which according to experts is the only way to contain the virus. The only institution following this unannounced rule was the Islamic Republic’s “parliament” which closed itself for 2 weeks while there is no plan to curtail the coronavirus tsunami in Iran.
While people’s life is in danger on a daily basis, Islamic Republic officials continue their vaccination charade. Director of Pasteur Institute promised the third phase of Cuban vaccine clinical trial will begin next week. However, regime media had reported it had started a few days ago. In the meantime, Ali Biglari said 24,000 will enter this phase across 7 provinces. He also said the manufacturing process will begin by the end of spring, starting with 1million doses a month. Previously, FDA Spokesman and other officials had said it would be tested on 50,000 Iranians and even 100,000 doses had entered the country. There have been reports that the vaccine was being tested on street cleaners and other adults without their knowledge.
FDA Spokesman, Dr. Kianoush Jahanpur, clarified the vaccines used so far. It shows only 0.18% of Iranians have been fully vaccinated while 718,510 shots have been administered since February 9, 2020.
Meanwhile, Mahmoud Vaezi, Rouhani’s Chief of Staff, reiterated Islamic Republic President’s idea about licensing private companies to import vaccines into the country, selling shots to people out of turn. He insisted on purchasing vaccines from foreign countries until it is possible for domestic companies to mass produce shots. According to the officials, “end of spring” is the time.
Ministry of Health Spokesperson presented her daily widely criticized data, even Iran Medical Board officials admitted the real numbers are at least 3 times higher. Sima Sadat Lari claimed 380 died of COVID-19 in the past 24 hours in Iran while 22,904 tested positive for the novel coronavirus. Daily PCR tests reduced for the second time in a row. Critical patients passed 5,100 while active cases continue to set new record every day, as seen on the graphs.
