Muharram arrived and so did crowded gatherings without following a single COVID-19 restrictions. In Mashhad, one of the hot spots for the Delta variant of coronavirus, last night’s gatherings were unimaginably shocking and outrageous. Yesterday, IranTrue published Dr. Saghafi’s description of the crisis in the second biggest city in the country, begging officials to “do something now,” and “save us!” However, Islamic Propaganda Organization in response to photos of these assemblies said: “If after 3 citations, they don’t follow the protocols, there would be more serious consequences for the hosts!”
The medical professionals continue to rebuke the government for its inaction to curtail the unleashed coronavirus in Iran, but to no avail. Dr. Alavi from Loqman hospital in Tehran says: “As front line fighters, we don’t see any action by the government which has caused helplessness and disappointment among us. Unfortunately, I don’t see a light at the end of this tunnel!” He also confirmed shortage of oxygen and other medications in filled hospitals which cannot attend to non-COVID patients anymore!
Islamic Republic COVID-19 National Task Force unanimously voted “not to lock down” the country! The Health Minister had suggested the lockdown for 2 weeks to Khameni, he passed it to the Task Force and according to an official, even Namaki himself did not vote for it! The logical conclusion being the mismanagement and inaction of the regime is deliberate and involves all elements of the system, from top to bottom.
More provinces join the list of “out-of-control” areas of the country. Isfahan, Qazvin, Semnan, Mazandaran,.. all reported critical situation in their hospitals, shortage and exhaustion of healthcare staff and scarcity of medications and oxygen! Mashhad officials warn that the current catastrophe is not even at the peak of the fifth wave and grimmer days are ahead. Kermanshah is getting ready to erect tents for the flood of COVID-19 patients. Gilan and Golestan hospitals are in devastating conditions and Ardabil reports record-breaking numbers.
While Delta massacre is happening and Islamic Republic remains dumb, deaf and mute on the humanitarian catastrophe, it continues to announce “new homegrown vaccines” which are ineffective and too late to matter! Today, COVPars announced 80% efficacy in the first 2 phases of its clinical trial. The lead researcher of the project said the mass production will begin soon. As Dr. Souri mentioned yesterday, there are some people who love the pandemic to continue so they remain relevant. Propaganda network of the Islamic Republic focuses on these when an Iranian dies every 2-minute!
Ministry of Health reported total of 16,795,107 shots have been administered since February 9 while only 3,274,980 (3.89% of Iran population) are fully vaccinated. The Spokesperson also claimed 508 died of COVID-19 in Iran in the past 24 hours and 39,139 tested positive for the novel coronavirus. Deputy Health Minister Harirchi and President of Iran Medical Council had admitted the real numbers are “much higher!” Daily PCR tests have been reduced while active and critical cases continue to soar, as seen on the graphs.
