Delta variant keeps breaking records and Islamic Republic continues its mismanagement and inaction, as if COVID-19 has become a blessing for the collapsing regime. Khamenei, in response to Health Minister’s permission request for 2 weeks lock downacross Iran, “ordered” the National COVID-19 Task Force to evaluate the request and decide about it! That proves the Task Force and what they decide are not based on science but what the “Supreme Leader” or security apparatus of the regime want or “deem necessary” to keep the regime in power and make money, even if it leads to the deaths of thousands of Iranians.
The hospitals are unable to accept new patients, they are left untreated on the grounds of hospitals. Unless you have 100-140 Million Toman to spend on your patients, then you can have everything ready at your doorstep! Provinces report record breaking numbers and horrifying situations are reported from across the country.
Social media is filled with sad messages about people’s loved ones dying of COVID-19 and they curse at “its cause, Khamenei and the Islamic Republic.” They blame Khamenei for banning the reliable vaccines from US and UK in January, when it could have helped preventing this catastrophe. They also point their rage towards regime officials’ lies and exaggerations about “homegrown vaccines“, their hiding the truth, holding religious gatherings including Ramadan, Eids,…, not supporting people to stay home and basically leaving everything to chance!
Harirchi, Deputy Health Minister, predicted 800 daily deaths are on the way and 90% of the country is in “red” status. He also confessed the vaccination started too late and too slow in Iran. Ministry of Health Spokesperson admits there have been 32% increase in hospitalizations in the past week! Officials from Tehran, Gilan, Mazandaran, Chaharmahal-Bakhtiari, Kermanshah, Semnan, Hormozgan, Khorasan Razavi, and all other provinces report “black and beyond critical” situation. Chairman of Tehran Corona Combating Committee reported 120 died of COVID-19 in Tehran alone, in the past 24 hours. Dr. Zali admitted the situation is “bad”, numbers are on the rise and healthcare staff are exhausted. Fars officials warn about steep spike in critical cases and more than 3,500 hospitalized patients!
Meanwhile, National COVID-19 Task Force official announced Muharram gatherings will be held by “following the protocols.” The same protocols which even officials confess are not abode by anybody!
While Delta variant is creating a hell in Iran similar to what it did in India, Islamic Republic officials are busy doing nothing. According to official data, since February 9, total of 13,081,174 shots have been administered and only 2,795,680 (3.32% of population) are fully vaccinated with ineffective vaccines. The majority have received Sinopharm.
Sima Sadat Lari claimed 411 died of COVID-19 in Iran in the past 24 hours and record breaking 37,189 tested positive for the novel coronavirus. Iran Medical Board officials believe the real numbers are at least 3 times higher and Deputy Health Minister admitted the real numbers are “much higher.” As seen on the graphs, active and critical cases soar. Positivity rate set a new record at 61.14%!
