Saturday and Sunday, Tasua and Ashura, are holidays in Iran when Muharram gatherings reach their peaks as people are enticed with centuries of exaggerated stories about “Imam Hossein” but what’s happening today and how these gatherings could harm somebody don’t concern them, because Khamenei and other religious leaders have said, Muharram mourning rituals are “must-haves” and can’t be suspended due to a deadly virus!
That also mean that the government is closed, and everything is in hiatus! Tomorrow, the weekly National Task Force meeting won’t be held and probably is postponed to Tuesday, because “everything is fine” and “cases are decreasing.” Sima Sadat Lari is the only high ranking health official who doesn’t observe any holiday, not because she doesn’t want to, but because she plays the main role in the daily show produced by Islamic Republic.
According to Lari, 2,115 new cases and 112 deaths have been recorded in the past 24 hours but it’s been established that all official stats are engineered. In a fresh article we explored this further with graphs and contradictory official statements. In the same press release, she also announced the same 28 provinces remain red (13) and alarming (15). That means more than 94% of country’s population live in critical condition, but for now, Muharram gatherings is more important than people’s lives!
As stated before, the officials are laying the groundwork to blame people and their travels for the upcoming thrid wave! Dr. Zafarghandi, head of Iran Medical Council, sent a letter to Khamenei, thanking him for helping and ordering people to follow “health protocols” in Muharram gatherings (the same impossible protocols we have written about in our daily reports), and at the same time blamed people for “unnecessary travels”. He told on Rouhani and other officials to the Islamic Republic “Supreme Leader,” the COVID-in-Chief, that why they hadn’t barred people from traveling! While that’s a good point, but doesn’t he think it’s a bit too late for that?!
Graphs continue to be the best indicators to keep a look on the ongoing human catastrophe and chaos in Iran. Active cases keep soaring and reaching the all time high while the government has no plan to control it, and the next wave would make everything worse considering the overwhelmed and exhausted hospitals and their staff!
