After downplaying the ongoing massacre in Iran by Islamic Republic officials, and calling Khamenei’s decision to ban UK and US made vaccines as “the best decision,” regime’s propaganda machine has begun downplaying the “black fungus” problem which have been more common than ever before. According to Dr. Mohebbi from Rasoul Akram Hospital in Tehran, 20% of patients with “black fungus” who had been treated for COVID-19, had to undergo surgery while 30% died of encephalitis! Mucormycosis infection happens in immunocompromised. However, COVID-19 cases treated with steroids have suppressed immune system which creates the opportunity for mucormycosis to manifest.
While Islamic Republic Ministry of Health continues to release its manipulated and undercounted data on COVID-19 cases, deaths and vaccination, head of Tehran cemetery reiterated his previous point that 40% of all deaths so far have been buried in the capital’s cemetery, as many as 400 a day during the fifth wave dominated by Delta variant, which was a record for the lifetime of the graveyard. According to Khaal, until August 30 night, 41,591 who died of COVID-19 have been buried in “Behesht-e-Zahra,” alone! Civil Registration Organization data indicate, since the beginning of the epidemic in Iran in February 2020, until August 29, 2021, more than 257,000 have died of the disease across Iran. On the other hand, epidemiology professor at Tehran University claims the real numbers are 7 times the reported ones!
Meanwhile, Delta variant continues its rampage across Iran. After Mashhad, Tehran and Shiraz, it’s Isfahan’s turn to reach its breaking point. 3,550 COVID-19 patients are admitted in the metropolitan hospitals. Semnan is expecting another rise in cases and hospitalizations. Lorestan reports increase in death toll, and Ardabil remains critical with 11 deaths in 1 day. Kermanshah records 132% rise in the number of cases compared to the third wave, requiring Army to erect a field hospital. Zanjan is experiencing an uptick in cases and hospitalizations, again.
When Delta is still alive and rampant, Lambda has become a real concern for health experts. There have been rumors that few cases have been identified in Tehran which Dr. Zali denied. However, whenever something is denied by an official, it usually turns out to be true, just like what happened with Alpha and Delta variants. In the meantime, Dr. Younesian criticized the government for not being transparent about sequencing data or if any sequencing is done on specimens! The epidemiologist said, “Others have the data, and they want us (without the data) to make predictions!” However, he emphasized that the sixth wave with Delta or Lambda is “quite possible” unless fast and widespread vaccination is done!
Vaccination has become a headache for people instead of easing their stress. They have to wait for their turn to register and after registration, even with appointment, they have to wait in lines for hours and turned away without any shot! The chaotic process begun on day one of vaccination in Iran, February 9, 2021, and has only gotten worse. Despite officials claiming millions of doses “are imported” or “arriving” or “will be arriving“, people experience shortage. Even Sinopharm, the regime’s favorite, however ineffective vaccine, is scarce in the capital:
Even Isfahan Medical University issued a statement announcing closure of its vaccination centers for 2 days. Khuzestan officials announced the same. Tehran, as seen in the video above, is having the same problem. Local reports from across the country reiterate the same point. Islamic Republic officials, however, continue their propaganda and manipulation of numbers, claiming they are “breaking records of daily administration!”
According to official data, 27,501,586 shots have been administered across Iran while only 8,711,970 (10.37% of population) have received both doses of Sinopharm, COVIran Barekat, and other ineffective vaccines. National COVID-19 Task Force Spokesman claims “we have decided to inject more second doses,” while FDA Spokesman admits there is no second dose of AstraZeneca! IranTrue has reported about shortage of AstraZeneca second doses for days.
Ministry of Health Spokesperson claimed 643 died of COVID-19 in the past 24 hours in Iran and 31,319 tested positive for the novel coronavirus. Graphs illustrate the five waves that Iran has been through in the past 18+ months, more than any other country in the world, due to deliberate mismanagement or pure incompetence of the theocratic regime.
