Saeed Namaki, Islamic Republic’s Health Minister, joins the rank of officials who thank hosts of Muharram ceremonies! The list is growing and the groundwork is laid for blaming people for the next COVID-19 wave which is expected to be even worse than the second considering how fragile the healthcare system, mainly the staff have become over the past 6 months! 6 months of inaction by the theocratic regime which has made everything even worse!
On the other hand, Education Minister has announced that all students must attend schools in person from next Saturday, September 5, except the ones in red regions! According to Sima Sadat Lari, Ministry of Health Spokesperson, 13 provinces including the biggest and most populous cities of the country are in red status, such as Tehran, Tabriz, Mashhad, Qom, Kerman, Yazd,… However, the Minister didn’t mention what happens when the status of a province is changed?! How about the overcrowded schools? How about the 15 provinces in “alarming” status which have some red cities and the status could change with a single case?! He did mention virtual classes online and on TV would start at the same time, however, according to the Ministry, more than 3,200,000 students don’t have access to phones or tablets to attend online classes! But at the same time, Islamic Republic spends billions of dollars to build infrastructures in Syria!
In the meantime, Masih Mohajeri wrote a piece for Jomhouri-e-Islami daily newspaper criticizing the Health Minister and other officials for not banning traveling or restricting unnecessary trips between provinces, just as we have been saying for MONTHS! He titled the piece, “Your duty is to pray and that’s it,” taking a jab at Namaki after his Instagram post: “I wish I could do more than just praying and begging people not to travel.”
In our daily reports we have mentioned numerous times that Islamic Republic has no plan to contain the virus but waiting for a miracle, controlling the flow of information by stifling citizen reporters and of course, manipulating the data to what suits the regime including for Muharram! Now that the majority of Muharram ceremonies would subside, the effects of reckless gatherings would show itself in the next 2-4 weeks, and that’s why the government has been inciting the “traveling” as the main cause for a resurgence. However, even if we consider traveling to northern regions as a major factor, only 10% of the entire population could be accounted for, what about the rest of the country?! What about the 28 provinces that are currently in critical condition?! 6 months excusing their incompetence is not enough, apparently.
As expected, the number of active cases decreased today, and that would be the case for a few days until it rises again. Sadat Lari announced 1,642 new cases and 109 deaths in the past 24 hours. Graphs show the real condition even though they’re based on highly criticized and undercounted data by the Islamic Republic.
