Sima Sadat Lari announced 2,751 new confirmed cases of COVID-19 and 212 deaths in the past 24 hours. 26 provinces remain critical, 14 in red and 12 “alarming”! While Ministry of Health Spokesperson mentioned Qom in the alarming category, the head of Qom’s Medical University designated it as “red”! Tehran remains red with 662 admissions in the past 24 hours, of those 111 were admitted at ICU. In the same time period, 500 have been discharged which shows the critical condition in the capital.
Dr. Zali, head of Tehran’s Corona Combating Committee announced establishing a campaign for gathering people’s donations to hospitals especially during Moharram. He said more information will be available at a later time but he said since there are shortages of masks and personal protection gears at hospitals, people should donate to hospitals and help the healthcare system.
Raisi, Deputy Health Minister in Health Affairs, had a meeting with orators about Moharram gatherings, insisting the number of gatherings should increase throughout the country so there is less crowded gatherings. According to him, using masks and social distancing are the most important ways of preventing the spread of the virus. Some praising his move and many critisizing how a physician and an official could be so reckless to go to another country, where infection is rampant and brag about it online as well! Although, why wouldn’t he, when Grand Ayatollahs including Khamenei have insisted on holding Moharram gatherings and “mourning for Imam Hossein”!
On the other hand, a video was circulated online about the effect of “bumble bee’s sting” in prevention and treatment of the novel coronavirus infection! The “expert” speaking about it on national TV introduced himself as a member of Pasteur Institute, but today the institute released a statement saying he used to be a member and his claims have not been assessed by any scientific study!

Graphs are another indicator in how devastating this catastrophe has been, even based on Islamic Republic’s suspicious and undercounted data. The sole source of pride for Islamic Republic officials, lower death rate compared to the rest of the world, is crushed. It has increased to 6.1% while it declines consistently in the rest of the world. In the meantime, the regime is trying to create a bigger catastrophe by holding national exams and Moharram mourning ceremonies.
