Iran Coronavirus December 17 – Yalda at Home, No! Friday Prayers, Yes!

Islamic Republic Ministry of Health doesn't even have an accurate count of its nurses who have contracted coronavirus or died of COVID-19.

The manipulated data by the Ministry of Health continue to show an unusual sharp downward trend while locals report the opposite. According to some reports from northern provinces, hospitals remain at full capacity. There are also reports that many who contract the novel coronavirus in Iran don’t even go to the hospital and try to self-isolate and self-treat, therefore, not included in the statistics provided every day!

The National Task Force has issued a new set of restrictions for Saturday and Sunday due to “Yalda Night.” Businesses are to close by 6PM and curfew for traffic starts at 8PM to 4AM. However, the Traffic Police have requested the officials to start the curfew by 10 PM. But some provinces, such as Markazi, have announced the businesses must close by 7PM. While Islamic Republic is focusing on small short family gatherings on Yalda, it is allowing longer crowded Friday Prayers in many cities across the country. Besides that, people attending the Prayers will be using public transportation system, spreading coronavirus even faster!

Following the ever controversial situation surrounding COVID-19 vaccine in Iran, head of Public Relations Office at Ministry of Health responded to Civil Aviation Organization.

Head of Iran Nursing Organization announced 60,000 nursing staff have contracted coronavirus and “about” 100 have died of COVID-19. Yesterday, Deputy Health Minister in Nursing reported 45,000 infections among nurses while said there was “no accurate record of the deaths.” In the past 10 months, hospital staff have been on the front line of fighting the deadly virus, but the Ministry of Health in charge of the crisis management doesn’t even have a record of how many of its staff have died!

Sima Sadat Lari announced 212 COVID-19 deaths in the past 24 hours in Iran while 7,453 tested positive for coronavirus. The counties’ status haven’t changed since yesterday. Testing has reached its highest daily number, 49,870! Basic Reproduction Rate (R0) and graphs depict 10 months of human catastrophe in Iran, vividly.
