Islamic Republic media continue publishing news about “domestic” COVID-19 vaccine and how “proud” Iranians must be for this achievement! In the meantime, 167 pharmacists wrote a letter to the FDA head, “Producing domestic coronavirus vaccine is a joke! How dare we claim we can make such a vaccine?” They pointed out the current shortages in the market and the fact that Iranian companies have been unable to produce enough insulin, remdesivir and so on!
They wrote, “Some reports published in media quoting officials are insults to our intelligence. Buying a few deep freezer is not difficult to store Pfizer vaccines.” They continued if “we can’t buy a few freezer, how can we create a sophisticated vaccine for 80million people.” They ended their letter by demanding the officials to purchase enough vaccines and in time! The chaos surrounding the vaccine has been ongoing for weeks!
In the meantime, Zanjan reports increasing number of cases in some areas while Yasouj and Kermanshah have recorded rising number of cases too. Alborz Medical University warns the 4th peak is a spark away! Dr. Zali, head of Tehran Corona Combating Committee, says controlling coronavirus in Tehran is very difficult due to its socioeconomic differences in different areas. He reported 69% decrease in the number of deaths in Tehran compared to 2 months ago.
Tehran Governor announced 30 deaths a day in Tehran as a “great achievement” after following protocols and lockdowns! More than 10months from the beginning of epidemic in Iran, 30 deaths a day in 1 city alone, is a great achievement for Islamic Republic! The numbers provided by the Ministry of Health have been discredited and officials have admitted they are deflated at least 3 times!
While National Task Force Spokesman said there have been 40% decrease in the number of deaths across the country, the Health Minister reported 50-60% decline in deaths and 60-70% decrease in cases have been seen across Iran in the past 40 days! He praised “martyr Soleimani” plan for this “achievement” and as usual IRGC was his hero and not the people!
Sima Sadat Lari presented her daily data! According to her, 121 died of COVID-19 while 5,908 tested positive for coronavirus in the past 24 hours, both showing an increase from the day before. Testing remains in the same range while the sharp decline in critical cases continue. As if Islamic Republic has a secret remedy to cure COVID-19 patients!
Basic Reproduction Rate (R0) and graphs continue to show the ongoing crisis for more than 10 months in Iran, while the regime has been on a trial and error approach to mismanage the catastrophe!
