From Saturday, December 5, 2020, Tehran and other cities which have seen decline in cases would allow the medium risk businesses to reopen and only high risk businesses such as barber shops, beauty salons, gyms, pools, party venues,… will remain closed for another week! However, this determination was supposed to be made each Monday, according to the “comprehensive dynamic plan” to contain the novel coronavirus in Iran.
Dr. Zali, head of Tehran Corona Combating Committee, warns against premature reopenings. He said the situation is fragile and could break at any moment! He demanded the public transportation system to be monitored and add more buses to the service in order for people to be able to social distance!
According to the manipulated and undercounted data by the Ministry of Health, the number of cases have increased again in comparison with yesterday. Sima Sadat Lari reported 13,922 new infections since yesterday and 358 deaths in the same time. The government has stopped announcing the individual provinces’ “color” condition from yesterday, instead Sadat Lari announces the number of cities in each “color” category. According to her, today, 64 counties are “red”, 278 “orange” and 106 “yellow.”
Last time the manner of announcing daily statistics changed was March 22. They stopped providing individual provinces’ numbers of cases and deaths. Officially, it was a measure to prevent panic across the country, which in fact did cause spreading coronavirus faster because people weren’t aware of the situation in each province! Unofficially, it was an attempt to make it easier for the regime to manipulate numbers and hide the gravity of circumstances, a method used by the theocratic regime since its inception.
While Islamic Republic officials claim traveling is impossible if someone has tested positive for coronavirus, the portal with the information has been unavailable since the beginning of this “plan”, nobody has been checked against the list of positive individuals, allowing travel agencies to issue plane tickets and them to travel!
Basic Reproduction Rate (R0) rose once again, testing remains in the same range as well. Recoveries have spiked, reaching its highest point since the epidemic began in Iran, more than 9 months ago. As if the Islamic Republic knows the remedy but doesn’t share it! According to the fake data, critical cases have decreased as well. Graphs indicate the growing number of active cases and the 3 waves Iranians have faced with the disease because of the catastrophic and chaotic management of the Islamic Republic government and religious gatherings.
