The Ministry of Health Spokesperson announced 13,341 new coronavirus infections in Iran in the past 24 hours while 347 have died of COVID-19. According to Sima Sadat Lari, 64 counties are “red,” 278 “orange” and 106 “yellow.” The “color” of each county determines what restrictions would be implemented in the area for the next week! This determination was supposed to be made every Monday and for the next week, but apparently, everything has changed. The government announced “Tehran will be orange from December 5” a week into the “2-week lockdown.” From tomorrow, 50% of employees would have to go to work, medium risk businesses will reopen and inner-city traffic will be resumed at the same level!
Islamic Republic is repeating the same mistakes which have caused the crisis to go nonstop for more than 290 days! This halfhearted restrictions would make everything worse eventually, and the catastrophic consequences would be on the shoulders of ordinary citizens, again! Premature reopenings, holding religious gatherings like Friday Prayers in large cities such as Rasht but at the same time limiting traffic between 9PM-4AM, and hiding real statistics are just a few of those missteps! Health experts and some provincial officials are warning against the “fragile condition” and a small slowing down of the coronavirus spread, saying the situation could change at any moment.
Alborz is already seeing increasing number of deaths after a few days of decline in its stats. In the past 24 hours, 15 have died in the province while it was in single digits in the past 5 days. Kerman and Fars also report a rise in their cases and deaths. However, the Islamic Republic doesn’t allow individual provinces to report their statistics since March 22, making it impossible to analyze each province.
Basic Reproduction Rate (R0) increased 3 more points, graphs depict the ever growing number of active cases. Based on the manipulated and fake data provided by regime’s Ministry of Health, critical cases doesn’t change at all, even though 1,996 patients were admitted in the past 24hrs! Historically, about 15-20% of patients are admitted in ICUs. Recoveries have dropped compared to yesterday, making it impossible to have the same number of critical cases 2 days in a row. Number of tests decreased by 2,300 from yesterday, but positivity rate increased 0.35%!
