According to the Islamic Republic’s undercounted and fake data, COVID-19 cases and deaths are on the decline across the country! At the same time, the government is relaxing the restrictions for businesses, making cities more crowded compared to the “2-week lockdown.” Health experts and provincial officials keep warning that this is a recipe for disaster and the history will repeat itself! Premature reopenings in April and religious gatherings have been the main reasons for coronavirus to go unchecked in Iran.
The COVID-19 vaccine is the topic of the day in the world’s media and so is in Iran! While Hemmati claimed US sanctions were the reasons the vaccine has not been ordered yet, US officials reiterate their previous statements that there’s no sanctions on humanitarian aids and medical supplies including medicines. They reaffirmed foreign banks facilitating humanitarian transactions are not subject to any penalty!
Sima Sadat Lari reported higher number of deaths and cases compared to yesterday. According to her statistics, since yesterday, 11,023 people tested positive for coronavirus while 323 died of COVID-19, 39 more than the day before! Testing remains in the same range. Critical cases have decreased and so have the active cases. However, the fluctuations in numbers are not significant and as officials warn, the situation is fragile and resurgence of the virus is imminent, especially with winter approaching.
Basic Reproduction Rate (R0) and graphs remain the best indicators showing 10 months of COVID-19 crisis in Iran. Since February, the Islamic regime has made the situation worse at every turn with their incompetency, corruption, lies and indifference to people’s lives.
