While politicians and health experts around the world agree there’s no end to coronavirus crisis without vaccination, Islamic Republic officials insist on making Iranians guinea pigs for Cuban Sovereign 02 and domestic COVIran Barekat! Health experts in Iran including specialists in infectious diseases believe not even one day should be delayed to immunize people, but Khamenei and his regime decide the fate of more than 83 million people who should wait for months more to receive first doses of any vaccine!
Saeed Namaki, the Health Minister of Islamic Republic who had claimed he’s not a political person and only relies on scientific data, validated Khamenei’s order to ban US and UK made COVID-19 vaccines by saying, “Whatever the father decides for his children must be obeyed. Don’t make a big fuss about it.” Mr. Minister swore to God that nobody should trust US to immunize Iranians! He even criticized the scientific aspect of the Pfizer, Moderna and Astrezeneca vaccines, “They haven’t completed the 4th phase of clinical trials that may take years.” He didn’t mention if the COVIran which is supposed to be ready by July 2021 is going to pass the 4th phase! Khamenei’s order clarified what “reliable source” means when officials talk about coronavirus vaccines, China, Russia, India and Cuba! Chinese medical expert calls Sinopharm vaccine as the “most unsafe COVID-19 vaccine” with 73 side effects!
In the meantime, 3 medical boards wrote a letter to the President of Islamic Republic asking him to act based on science and not politics! Heads of Iran Medical Board, Supreme Medical Council, and Assembly of Scientific Associations of the Medical Council said, “Mr. President, as you know, many neighboring countries have started vaccinations. Providing and purchasing vaccines is a vital priority for the people. Vaccine is the only certain way to cut coronavirus infections which is taking lives every day.” They added, “Vaccines purchased through COVAX and the domestic version may take months and would not be enough.”
Meanwhile, Amnesty International called Khamenei’s order a gross human rights violation depriving millions of Iranians from vaccine and healthcare.
Ministry of Health warns about the “beyond dangerous” air quality in Tehran. The air pollution has passed “red” and has entered “purple” zone. Just like the coronavirus map, air pollution is designated different colors! Health authorities ask vulnerable groups not to go out at all. In the meantime, they warn COVID-19 cases could increase due to the polluted air.
Meanwhile, Saeed Namaki confirmed 4 new cases of UK fast-spreading mutated version of coronavirus, whom “returned from Europe.” Education Ministry announced some schools will reopen in “yellow” and “blue” regions, especially for first and second graders. Kermanshah reports increasing number of cases. Mazandaran Governor says controlling COVID-19 in the province is impossible due to the floating number of travelers! According to traffic police, travels to the northern belt have increased in the past few days by relaxing restrictions!
Sima Sadat Lari presented her daily undercounted and engineered numbers! She announced 71 COVID-19 deaths and 5,968 have tested positive in the past 24 hours in Iran. Testing remains in the same range and 7 counties remain red. Orange, yellow and blue counties show no change from yesterday.
