Lorestan officials warn of the next coronavirus peak in Iran, demanding people to continue abiding by the protocols. Alborz reports increasing number of cases, Qazvin records show a rise in number of deaths. The provincial reports show an uptrend indicating the extremely fragile COVID-19 situation in Iran.
Raisi, National Task Force Spokesman, told reporters 16.8 million doses of vaccines will be imported from COVAX system in the next 2 months. The time frame was “2 months” a month ago too! He also said by March 20 (end of Persian year), 2.6million doses will be imported from China and Russia! He expressed his hopes that by that time vaccination of people will be started! On the other hand, head of Scientific Subcommittee of National Task Force said, “By spring, Iranian vaccine will be ready to be used!” That time frame was summer, July 2021! Chaos has been surrounding coronavirus vaccine for weeks. Khamenei, “Supreme Leader” of Islamic Republic, has banned importing UK, US and France made vaccines!
Islamic Republic officials have been blaming people’s traveling and small family gatherings like Yalda Night for every peak but have allowed crowded religious ceremonies in Ramadan, Muharram, Friday Prayers and now Fatemieh! Meanwhile, Khamenei holds 1-person “mourning.”
Sima Sadat Lari continue her daily report of manipulated Ministry of Health data. She announced 86 COVID-19 deaths in the past 24 hours in Iran while 6,016 have tested positive for the novel coronavirus. Testing fell from yesterday but positivity rate increased from 11.52% to 11.61%. The inclination of downtrend in cases and deaths has flatten, even based on the undercounted statistics of Islamic Republic.
Basic Reproduction Rate (R0) and graphs are the best indicators of more than 11 months of Iranians struggle fighting COVID-19.
