National Task Force convened its weekly meeting. Often there’s no major news coming out of these meetings and today was no exception. President of Islamic Republic praised regime’s response to three waves of cases and deaths, calling it a success! Rouhani said, “We’ve done great so far. We have controlled the coronavirus in its third wave earlier than many have expected. Even US and Europe are still in an uptrend!” The remainder of his speech was about how great Islamic Republic has adapted to the situation and better than all other countries!
However, in reality, Iran has been grappling with COVID-19 and Islamic Republic at the same time! Regime lying, hiding and manipulating information have been the main method of “controlling” the virus. According to that data, 6,045 tested positive for coronavirus in the past 24 hours in Iran while 101 died of COVID-19. Mazandaran, Yasouj, Fars, Markazi, and Khuzestan report increasing number of cases and warn against the next peak. Raisi, Deputy Health Minister in Health Affairs, warns about Gilan and announces 4 counties in Mazandaran as red! That’s the definition of “controlled epidemic” in Islamic Republic!
While most neighboring countries have started vaccinating their citizens, National Task Force Spokesman denied the rumors about any vaccine arriving in Iran. He said the 16.8 million doses from COVAX will reach Iran within the next 2 months, and that’s the earliest Iranians will have access to any vaccine. In the meantime, there are pictures of Khamenei floating around on social media platforms, speculating that he must have received the vaccine, otherwise he wouldn’t be in close contact with others! He prayed over Mesbah Yazdi’s body today in presence of a few others, while he held his muharram ceremonies alone!
While regime has been blowing trumpets about “creating COVID-19 vaccine in Iran,” and for propaganda purposes, paraded three “volunteers” in front of cameras participating in the first phase of human trials, FDA Spokesman said, “We agreed to do the third phase human trials of Cuban COVID-19 vaccine in Iran, if Cuba brings the technology necessary for producing the vaccine to Iran!” There’s little data available about Cuban coronavirus vaccine!
Polluted air in Tehran and Alborz has caused concern for officials. Dr. Zali, head of Tehran Corona Combating Committee voiced his concern over extremely dangerous air quality in the capital, asking people to stay inside, especially the vulnerable groups and whoever that has recently recovered from COVID-19. Tehran Governor has asked the cabinet to close the capital for a few days and waiting for their approval!
Today’s data show testing remains in the same range. Basic Reproduction Rate (R0) and graphs indicate the ongoing human catastrophe in Iran for almost 11 months, even though they’re based on the manipulated statistics of Islamic Republic Ministry of Health!
