Number of COVID-19 cases and deaths in Iran increased from the day before. According to the undercounted and widely discredited data provided by the Ministry of Health, 103 have passed away and 6,360 tested positive for coronavirus in the past 24 hours. 4 counties in Mazandaran remain “red” while the rest of the northern belt’s situation worsens by the day. Officials continue to voice their concern over the next peak of COVID-19 in their provinces.
Even though Lorestan health officials warned about increasing number of cases, Friday Prayers Committee announces Friday Sermon will be held in the province. Hormozgan officials raised the question of uncontrolled traveling to the province from high risk areas which could cause spread of coronavirus in recent “orange-yellow” cities.
Head of Ilam Medical University says desensitized people to the situation is closing the province to the next peak of COVID-19 in the province. As usual, people are to blame and not the manipulated data by the Islamic Republic officials or their wrong hypocritical decisions in the past 11 months. A chaotic mismanagement which has cost thousands of lives! Allowing religious gatherings such as Ramadan, Muharram, Arbain, and Friday Prayers during the epidemic, to the point that the theocratic officials have started to criticize health officials for closing mosques and Friday Prayers. Today, Malayer Friday Prayers Imam said, “Suspending religious gatherings is more harmful than coronavirus!”
Meanwhile, Dr. Minoo Mohraz, a member of National Task Force, said there’s a possibility of the next peak starting in late February especially with the new fast-spreading UK variant of coronavirus! Raisi, National Task Force Spokesman, confirmed the wife of person who tested positive for the mutated virus, has also tested positive for coronavirus but not yet what variant!
Basic Reproduction Rate (R0) and graphs indicate a relative calm before storm if history is any indication in managing a crisis by Islamic Republic officials. Testing remains in the same range. With COVID-19 vaccine “being imported in 2 months” and the domestic one “mass produced by the end of July 2021”, it means more deaths and sufferings for Iranians!
