The impending coronavirus catastrophe was predicted long before any “official” or “expert” wanted to open his eye or was allowed to speak about it! The management, deceit and lies of Islamic Republic could only lead us here, where it always has in the past 41 years, a dead end, a zugzwang situation where any choice in front of the regime would lead to its dooms day. However, one choice could save people’s lives, but Khamenei and his goons would rather sacrifice people in order to buy some more time to stay at the throne! 141 more Iranians died of COVID-19 in the past 24hours, according to the face of Ministry of Health, Sima Sadat Lari! The dreadful situation has wiped out that smug smile off her face when she announced Khuzestan, Kurdistan, East & West Azerbaijan, Hormozgan, Bushehr, and Kermanshah in red status and Isfahan, Kerman, Hamedan, Zanjan, North Khorasan, and Kohgiloyeh-Boyerahmad in “alarming” situation.
It looks like the Ministry of Health Spokesperson has once again forgotten to mention Khorasan Razavi, Alborz, Tehran, South Khorasan, Sistan-Baluchestan, Lorestan, Golestan, Mazandaran and Qom, four of which have already been named as “red” by Deputy Health Minister and given “special directives” to follow to combat the disease! Mazandaran and Golestan have informed the Ministry about the surge in their cases and admissions today. Tehran is getting worse by the minute and Alborz follows its neighboring province! An official from Isfahan’s Medical University said the number of cases has increased to 3 digits from today and the sharp surge in numbers has started from a week ago! He also confirmed the number of COVID-19 critical cases in the past week has passed 100!
Khorasan Razavi’s two biggest cities, Mashhad and Torbat Jaam, have announced “beyond red” situation but it seems like top officeholders haven’t learned their lessons and continue to omit, lie and cover up the real situation and not announce the province in red or even alarming status. An official from the city announced the number of cases has increased twice and deaths have multiplied 3 times compared to a month ago! However, that’s not the only reason Mashhad should be mentioned. While nurses and other healthcare staff are too exhausted and burned out to stay on their jobs and are sacrificing their lives to treat others, the ones working in Mashhad hospitals have not been treated fairly. Ministry of Health allowed hospitals across the country to hire contract nurses on 89-day basis when the outbreak started. Since then these nurses have been working multiple shifts in a row and haven’t received the promised benefits. Today, when some attended a peaceful gathering against the unfair situation in front of the Judiciary office in Mashhad, they were beaten by batons and shockers and 10 were arrested. The arrested ones were released after hours in custody. Another good news coming out of the second biggest city in Iran is, despite the awful situation, “Astan-e-Quds” is worried that people not following instructions may cause the “Imam Reza” shrine to be shut down completely again!
With COVID-19 raging through the entire country, deputy Health Minister in Treatment Affairs is bragging about how increasing hospital beds during Rouhani’s two terms has helped during the crisis and apparently want people to be thanking him and his bosses! 2,549 new cases and 141 more deaths are their achievements in the past 24 hours. The crisis continues to devastate Iranians and the regime officials keep ignoring proper measures to control it. In their latest “job well-done” moment, the National Task Force has agreed to close down Hormozgan for a week! The province has been struggling with shortage of healthcare staff, hospital beds, and ravaging COVID-19 for WEEKS now! Khuzestan is on the same boat but no lockdown has been announced for them yet!
