Delta variant is ravaging through Iran and Islamic Republic officials keep warning the people while not implementing COVID-19 restrictions they had put in place themselves! According to the official data presented by the Ministry of Health on a daily basis which are highly criticized and Iran Medical Board officials estimate to be 1/3 of the real numbers, in the past month, more than 1 Iranian has died of COVID-19 every 10 minutes. If we include the Iran Medical Board estimation, that is 4+ people dying every 10 minutes in Iran! In addition to banning the reliable UK and US made vaccines, Khamenei and his regime have insisted on holding religious gatherings causing more harm. In about 2 weeks, Muharram will begin and already they are planning for crowded gatherings!
Sistan-Baluchestan, Kerman, Tehran, Alborz, Gilan, Mazandaran, Golestan, Bushehr and Hormozgan are in “beyond critical” situation with filled hospitals, shortage of staff and oxygen. Ministry of Health has admitted almost the entire country is in “red” situation and it is only getting worse.
Official figures indicate total of 9,674,121 shots have been administered in Iran with more than 84million population and only 2,334,317 are fully vaccinated (2.77% of population). The vaccines used in the country, Covaxin, Sinopharm, Sputnik V, AstraZeneca and COVIran Barekat, are not effective against the wild Delta (Indian) variant. Dr. Zafarghandi, President of Iran Medical Board, confirmed “many” breakthrough cases among physicians who were fully vaccinated with Sinopharm. He also admitted vaccination is too slow and ineffective at this rate.
