Rouhani’s speeches at the weekly National Corona Combating Task Force have always been intriguing in the past 5 months, because they shine more lights on how deceitful Islamic Republic is for the whole world, Iranians have become tired of it. Today, he made it clear that Moharram mourning ceremonies are held in all areas of the country, red, white, yellow or “whatever”! He said the “good experience” from Ramadan religious gatherings including “Laylatul Qadr” were so effective that even “enemies couldn’t attribute the new surge to those days.” Moharram mourning ceremonies will be held like any other year but by “following health protocols.” He added “nobody can create distance between religion and science!” He reiterated hopelessness should be destroyed in the country and hope should become prevalent to overcome problems in the country! He added “our people have been under brutal sanctions for 2 years and some months, they have a lot of problems, coronavirus has been in the country for close to 6 months, but thank God, there is no acute critical issue in the country! Nothing can make them kneel in front of oppression!”
President of the Islamic Republic spoke for about 1.5 hours but this is the highlight of his weekly nonsense at that specific meeting. It’s full of contradictions and false claims. For one, we had reported many times from local officials that they believed “Eid Fitr” and “Laylatul Qadr” were the beginning of the second wave in the country. The health protocols he refers to are not enforced anywhere in the country. In Moharram, many people gather in small spaces, some men would take their shirts off, sweating and hitting on their chests all night! Even though Rouhani says the time should be shorten and the not many should gather in small spaces, but immediately after that, he says, “mourning for our lord, Imam Hossein, is in our blood, it’s God’s order!”
On the other hand, Sima Sadat Lari announced 195 deaths and 2,316 new cases in the past 24 hours. While the numbers may have decreased in some provinces, 25 provinces were announced as “alarming” or “red”. More specifically, Tehran is in dire situation. City officials ask for traffic rules to be suspended so people would use public transportation less. Capital’s Governor has extended the restrictions for another week. Mashhad and Mazandaran report shortage of masks across their provinces with high prices. The shortage crisis has made police to intervene and warn sellers to reduce their prices or face consequences! Test kits have been scarce in some of the red provinces as well, which the Ministry of Health announced it has been resolved today, we will keep you posted on that later.
Apart from Mohrram gatherings which start on August 20, more than 1,000,000 high school graduates have to attend national university entrance exam in Auguest as well. Although many parents and “parliament representatives” have called on the government to cancel this year’s exam in fear for the students’ health and allow universities to accept students based on their merit but Rouhani and the Ministries involved insist on administering the exam.
Basic Reproduction Rate (R0) and graphs continue to show an ongoing crisis with Islamic Republic waiting for its propaganda machine to perform at its highest in Moharram. Unfortunately, with media blackouts when they are needed the most, another surge of cases and deaths await Iranians during and after those “mourning” ceremonies for somebody who has died some 1,400 years ago! It’s like Islamic Republic intends to kill more Iranians!
