The inexplicable dreadful situation in Iran worsens by the day and Islamic Republic officials have no plan to fix the problems other than telling people to “be patient” or “reduce your electricity and water consumption.” Patients expire in hospitals as the power is cut off, and Islamic Republic keeps those cases under the wrap. Dr. Hashemian, ICU specialist at Masih Daneshvari hospital in Tehran, says the regime officials, including the Health Minister, his Deputy Harirchi, and Dr. Jahanpur, see people’s dying as just numbers not somebody’s loved one. He clarified that all death and case numbers are treated as a “secret” at the Ministry of Health.
Just one example, in a hospital, it took 15 minutes for generators to kick in, even then, the ventilation was connected to city’s power grid, leaving the whole ICU ward for COVID-19 patients with no ventilation but a single fan! The power was cut for 3 hours.
In another CCU, patients on the verge of expiration and healthcare professionals helpless.
And at home, COVID-19 patients dependent on oxygen generators are left bewildered and hopeless, “I’m crying in this situation, don’t know what to do, how can I take care of my patient?”
Sistan-Baluchestan’s situation is “black,” according to province’s representatives at the Islamic Consultative Assembly, demanding IRGC, Basij and armed forced to “enter the scene” and save the day. Red Crescent Society of Islamic Republic sends water tankers and “first shipment of health products” to the province, after it has been struggling with the Delta variant for more than 4 weeks. According to the Ministry of Health, 60% of PCR tests turn positive in the province. Locals report shortage of PCR kits and long lines. 4 hospitals serve more than 1.5million people in Baluchestan region of the province.
Kerman, Bushehr, Fars, Hormozgan, Alborz, Kermanshah, Lorestan, Ilam, Ardabil, Mazandaran, Gilan, Golestan, and Qazvin all report increasing number of cases, hospitalizations and deaths across the board, all due to the Delta variant.
Tehran is no different. Chairman of Tehran Corona Combating Committee announced 1,395 COVID-19 hospitalizations in the past 24 hours, and a total of 5,400 patients at hospitals, which is a record for itself. Dr. Zali also reported 52 deaths in Tehran alone since yesterday. Considering Sima Sadat Lari had announced 1,780 total admissions across the country in the past 24 hours, it means only about 400 were admitted in 30 other provinces! Tehran Governor also confessed the capital is in the midst of the fifth wave of coronavirus dominated by the Delta (Indian) variant.
Vaccination remains slow, chaotic and disorganized. The daily administered doses reached 24,375, more than 100,000 less than the day before! However, Saeed Namaki promised it will speed up from next week by addition of 400,000 doses of COVIran Barekat to the pipeline. The Health Minister also pushed back the mass immunization to August and September! It is notable, Islamic Republic President, Health Minister and many other officials had hoped to vaccinate 13-14million by July! According to official data, since February 9, total of 6,476,320 doses have been administered and only 2,001,166 (2.38% of Iran population) are fully vaccinated with Sinopharm (China), AstraZeneca (COVAX), Covaxin (India), and Sputnik V (Russia). Khamenei has banned US and UK made vaccines.
Ministry of Health Spokesperson claimed 157 died of COVID-19 in the past 24hours in Iran and 16,025 tested positive for the novel coronavirus. Sima Sadat Lari refused to mention any specific details about the variants. Iran Medical Board officials believe the real numbers are at least 3 times higher than the daily reports. As seen on the graphs, while daily PCR tests continue to decline, positivity rate, active and critical cases keep rising.
