2,979, the highest number of daily new cases, since April 1, was announced today. There was also jump in the number of deaths, 81, from yesterday. According to the Health Minister, who spoke yesterday after the cabinet meeting, half of the COVID-19 deaths are in 3 provinces and 27-28 provinces are in stable condition. That is directly in contrast with what the Ministry’s Spokesman had said yesterday. At least 9 provinces are in “alarming” or “critical” situation! In the meantime, head of Corona Combating Committee in Tehran announced 5.6% increase in the number of people going to hospitals and voiced his concern about increased number of admissions and cases in Tehran Metropolis.
Khuzestan remains in critical condition. Deputy Health Minister in Nursing said the main problem in Khuzestan is shortage of healthcare workers, just as we had reported before. She also warned that many of the staff are exhausted or burned out and if people don’t obey the rules, there will be more problems in the future. What she said is opposite of what Rouhani had said before about freshness of the healthcare staff.
Dr. Masoud Mardani, an Infectious disease specialist and a member of Infectious Disease Control, said, “If people don’t abide by social distancing rules, there will be a second wave in all provinces in near future.” He continued, “The current situation in Kermanshah, Khuzestan, Hormozgan and Sistan-Baluchestan is alarming and indicates a second wave. Tehran is showing a gradual increase in cases too.”
On the other hand, Dr. Mokhtariazad, head of National Influenza Laboratory, warned about the upcoming fall and winter, sounding the alarm that the NIL may not be ready for the disease. Director Director General of Student Affairs at the Ministry of Health announced 17 out of 82 residents of Kerman Medical University’s dormitory have tested positive for novel coronavirus. He said they don’t have any symptoms and have contracted the disease while taking care of patients. He added, “Isfahan Medical University’s dormitory residents were tested too and 7 had positive results.” According to him, none of the medical students have died of the disease since the outset of the outbreak.
Normalization of Corona crisis is the main issue in the country but these days IRIB and officials prefer talking about the unrest in the US instead of talking care of the problems in Iran. The Health Minister warns the number of deaths could rise even more and returns to 3 digit territory! He said, “Officials have made it look like everything is back to normal and corona is gone, but it is not! We have lost 32 and 40-year-old young people in Sistan-Baluchestan. In Bandar Abbas, a 42-year-old nurse has passed away.” This is interesting coming from one of “those” officials who insist on “controlling” the virus and announcing “magnificent management of the situation.”
We, at IranTrue.com, have been reporting their hypocrisy and lies every day. More than 100 days have passed away and people are still dying every single day! The graphs, reproduction rate (R0) and growth factor remain above 1! The increase in critical cases and “active cases” are alarming!
