Sima Sadat Lari, the Ministry of Health Spokesperson, who replaced Kianoush Jahanpur to continue lying or maybe add a few more of hers in the daily press release, has made it clear that she’s not made for bigger stages but surely, Islamic Republic’s intelligence community has seen something in her to promote her. Yesterday, she didn’t mention the number of critical cases and we thought it could be one of the changes she’s told to make, either that was a howler from her part or they couldn’t do it so subtly, because today she announced 2,728 critical cases among COVID-19 patients. However, her today’s blunder was much bigger which made it all the way to international media outlets, and even WHO, Worldometer and Johns Hopkins COVID-19 World Map! It was so bad that made us believe Jahanpur, who was a bad liar and we’ve reported about so many of his contradictions over the past 112 days, was a much better role player.
Lari also mentioned Khuzestan, Hormozgan, Kerman, Kermanshah and Kurdistan are in red OR alarming situation. Now, this is a much more subtle change, because unless somebody has followed the daily reports, they wouldn’t notice it. Jahanpur would always say, for example, Khuzestan is still red and would name a few other provinces as “alarming”!
Deputy Health Minister in Treatment Affairs says because the virus is spreading fast and people’s cooperation to follow health instructions has reduced, everybody should wear a mask, even homemade ones. He also said, everybody should try to reduce the number of infected, otherwise we’ll have another peak. Probably he hadn’t received the memo that Rouhani asked not to worry people by saying the second or third wave are coming! The deputy may also want to tell his colleague, Sima Lari, that as a representative of the Ministry, she may want to put on a mask when announcing the numbers every day! Or may be that’s another change she is bringing to the table?!
We reported on a new force created by Islamic Republic to snoop into people’s lives, called “Health Police“. Today, NAJA, Islamic Republic’s Police, denied the news, saying, “As a member of the Committee for Security, Social and Disciplinary Affairs in National Corona Combating Task Force, the force operates within the framework of the National Task Force’s communications policies and resolutions.” So Police is not part of the National Task Force or it is?! They’re actually confirming the existence of such a “committee” inside the National Task Force!
While officials of more than 14 provinces have warned about the uptrend in their cities, Ministry of Health keeps downplaying the crisis and blame the more “active case finding” as the main reason for that. However, graphs indicate that even by increasing or decreasing the number of daily tests, there is no correlation with the number of cases.
2,238 new cases and 78 more deaths are confirmed since yesterday. These all may look like small numbers, but this has been going on officially for more than 110 days, and unofficially a few WEEKS before that, and there are evidences of all of them being fake and manipulated. These people are all beloved by someone and families are torn apart because of Islamic Republic’s mismanagement, incompetence, corruption and stupidity! But the regime prefers sacrificing people over losing power.
It is worth mentioning, since the numbers in the right column are pulled automatically from WHO database, depending on when they may fix it, there is a discrepancy between the correct data below and in the graphs with other sources, Lari’s gaffe is to blame.
