For the second day in a row, more than 100 people died of COVID-19, according to Sima Sadat Lari, the Spokesperson for the Islamic Republic Ministry of Health, or Ministry of Death if you will! 113 deaths and 2,449 new cases are confirmed since yesterday. According to her, Khuzestan, West Azerbaijan, Hormozgan, Kurdistan and Sistan-Baluchestan are in “red” situation, and Khorasan Razavi, Tehran and Bushehr see increased number of admissions. Many other provinces have been dropping out of the list one at a time! However, after more than 116 days from the onset of coronavirus outbreak in Iran, based on official announcement, horrifying news is coming out from every corner of the country. And Rouhani keeps reopening new businesses every day. For example, today, tourism attractions have reopened in Lorestan, one of the provinces in alarming situation.
Zanjan’s Friday Prayer Imam: Unfortunately, people have forgotten about COVID-19 and it’s soaring in our province again.
Head of Ilam’s Medical University: According to the Ministry, ALL provinces will get involved with the virus again. Ilam must be prepared for the peak.
South Khorasan: Officials in many cities sound the alarm for surging number of infections and admissions.
Isfahan and Chaharmahal-Bakhtiari warn their residents that COVID-19 cases are increasing and they must follow health instructions or the Governors may have to reimpose restrictions.
Fars: The critical condition in neighboring provinces, Hormozgan and Bushehr, has caused the disease to spread to Fars as well. According to officials, Larestan is in critical condition and soon all of the province will be involved unless restrictions are reimposed. Lieutenant Governor said normalization of the crisis has caused all this and people should take it more seriously.
Khuzestan which has been grappling with COVID-19 for weeks now, is in catastrophic condition. According to officials, all ICU beds are occupied and healthcare staff are exhausted and burned out. One of Khuzestan’s representative in parliament compared the situation to a huge earthquake and asked for immediate solution. In this circumstance, head of Health Network in the province confirmed that 11,000 COVID-19 specimens have been “lost”! How is that possible?! Probably to cover-up the real numbers when they know the world is watching?! Who knows, anything is possible!
The latest report by Epidemiology committee of National Corona Combating Task Force from the condition of coronavirus in the country, ending in June 13, points out to a general uptrend in Iran. It also shows uptrend in 24 of 31provinces!
Despite all this, Rouhani is proud of the “job well done” by his administration and keeps thanking Khamenei for his great leadership, leading people to death might have been what Rouhani meant. Interestingly enough, Iran International has removed its “Corona Map” and doesn’t cover as much news as they used to on this subject!
Graphs, including growth factors above 1, and basic reproduction rate (R0) have all been warning signs for the Islamic Republic but apparently, they rather look nice in the media!
