When officials were proud of their “fantastic job in controlling” COVID-19 and kept saying “other countries are asking to use our model to contain the virus”, we kept pointing out their lies and the ongoing crisis by graphs even based on their fake and undercounted data. Four day in a row with three digit deaths is a serious alarm for Iranians to stay home and protect themselves, because based on a proven fact, Islamic Republic regime doesn’t care about people’s lives. 120 deaths and 2,612 new cases were confirmed in the past 24 hours. Sima Sadat Lari announced Khuzestan, East Azerbaijan, Khorasan Razavi, Kermanshah, and Kurdistan are in red condition. What happened to the other critical provinces since yesterday and why they’re not mentioned is beyond me. In the meantime, Isfahan and Ilam officials are worried about the exponential surge the in the number of cases in their provinces. Head of Golestan’s Medical University announced the infection has soared in the province in the past few days and several counties are designated “red” now.
Still, Khuzestan is the leader of critical COVID-19 zones with hospitals at full capacity and healthcare staff exhausted. Officials say even the schools may not reopen for the new year if coronavirus is not curtailed by then (September 21). Abadan Special Governor issued a new directive mandating everybody to wear a mask in public or face “Corona Emergency Police”. This concept was previously brought up and denied later but today, Mousavi repeated, “We are going to control and surveil the infected people to make sure they don’t break their quarantine and spread the virus to others.”
Raisi, a Deputy for the Health Minister, said, “People’s cooperation has reduced significantly from 78% to 23% at the national level and from 62% to 11% in Tehran.” He continued, “If people don’t cooperate with us, more and more will get infected and hospitals would be overwhelmed. In that case, we won’t have any choice but to reimpose closures we had in March.” He said one of our biggest worries, normalization of corona, has become a reality and that’s a serious problem. However, he himself, his boss and colleagues are the ones who made it look like everything was fine, and the virus was “contained.” Everyday, they confused people by using colors, counting their scores against US and EU and this is the results! Or the fact that they reopened mosques, Friday Prayers are on from next week, including in Tehran. Today was the 6th Imam’s death anniversary and there were “mourning” gatherings everywhere! The list of their stupid moves goes on and on!
The novel coronavirus has been the unwelcome guest of Iranians for 120 days and it’s getting worse by the day. People’s loved ones are passing on while Islamic Republic has no plan to stop it.
