Another day and another truthful, however, ghastly report from Iran on the coronavirus situation. While Khuzestan in SW Iran is struggling to survive the surge of cases and deaths, NW doesn’t have better days. Today, Lieutenant Governor of East Azerbaijan announced an unbelievable soar in the number of cases and deaths due to low cooperation from people and said if it continues to be like this, restrictions will be back. He said some of the restrictions need to be coordinated with the National Task Force but some are in the hands of the Governor and he’ll decide what to do. In the meantime, Sima Sadat Lari mentioned only 5 provinces in “red” situation including Khuzestan, Kermanshah, Kurdistan, Hormozgan and East Azerbaijan. The omission of “red” provinces in this list on a daily basis is mind boggling. Shiraz is bringing back post-admission hospitals for possible surge in the number of recovered patients, another indication that Fars is the next province to be hit hard.
The Ministry of Health Spokesperson also announced 2,596 new cases and 87 deaths since yesterday. By looking at the graphs, an interesting fact comes to light to debunk another lie of Islamic Republic gang on COVID-19 stats. For weeks now, officials, from top to bottom, have been insisting on the “active case finding” as the cause for increase in the number of daily cases. However, it’s obvious that the yo-yo style of testing doesn’t count for the surge in infection numbers. Firstly, there aren’t many tests run in a day anyway, and secondly, by constantly increasing/decreasing a couple of thousands, not much is changed in the number of cases! Thirdly, why is there a need for the up and down in testing numbers?! Is this another way of manipulating the daily cases, trying to hide the catastrophe?!
While the regime’s officials pretend to be worried about the epidemic and keep “warning” people with no plan or action, Iraj Harirchi, Deputy Health Minister, made it very clear, “People should be prepared to deal with corona until the end of the year (March 2021). We will have deaths at least until then. Don’t be optimistic about any drug or mass produced vaccine.” Most countries in EU and the US are easing restrictions gradually and people are going to back to their normal lives, after a few months of total lockdown, wondering what Khamenei, Rouhani and Saeed Namaki have to say about the comparison between Iran and those countries, now?!
Every single problem in one of the richest countries in the world, could be traced back to the existence of Islamic Republic, including losing THOUSANDS of Iranians to COVID-19. It could have been managed much better with less casualty if they didn’t consider this disaster like a contest or if they had listened to independent health experts. The increased cases is going to be seen in all provinces soon, especially with resumed Friday Prayers and opening up the holy shrines. In the meantime, Education Minister said the next school year will start as usual but how students will be attending classes is yet to be determined. He said, “We may have to divide classes into 4 categories. Some will be online, some will be in 2-3 shifts so less students would be at the same class, some will need students at specific time during the year or week, and we may even have all classes as usual depending on how the crisis is by September.”
While most Persian language media and IRIB are focused on how everything is people’s fault, it is not! COVID-19 has never even been managed by the regime, let alone “controlled.” We have been warning about the whole “normalization” process taken by Islamic Republic in our daily reports for MONTHS now. Even their fake and engineered numbers was shouting crisis from the beginning.
