Today, Sima Sadat Lari announced 134 deaths and 2,595 new cases have been confirmed since yesterday. The death figure keeps going up and more and more Iranian families are mourning their families but the government is busy doing something else instead of at least trying to do something! Rouhani’s administration has been celebrating their “achievements” so much in the past few days, it has caused confusion if this was the “government week” when Islamic Republic would brag about their accomplishments in the year before with millions of dollars spent on the ceremonies. Of course, they all are empty promises and just another piece of propaganda for the regime but this past few days, with Coronavirus raging through the country, spreading to every city one by one, this self-praising approach is repugnant. All government websites, including IRNA, its official news agency, is full of pictures and news about “new projects”, “how great this government has been”, “millions of people getting access to mobile internet during Rouhani’s two terms”,… and so on!
128 days since the “official” outbreak announcement have passed, more than 10,000 of Iranians are dead, based on the fake and manipulated data from the Islamic Republic, and still more than a hundred are dying per day! However, that doesn’t stop Saeed Namaki, the Health Minister of Islamic Republic, to talk about one of the worst hit provinces, Khuzestan, like this: “I owe everything to Khuzestan….I have always thought Khuzestan must be one of the first provinces to flourish after Iran-Iraq war…We’re doing our best to supply the shortcomings in combating coronavirus…”, he continued, “I estimate the peak in Khuzestan will subside in the next few days.” Curiouser and curiouser! How exactly does he estimate that?! Many cities in the province still report increased cases/admissions every day. There has been no change in rules or actions by the Governor,.. The province just received 20 ventilators and still is struggling with shortage of supplies, so…?! Not to mention, Khuzestan remains one of the most undeveloped provinces in the country.
On the other hand, South Khorasan is reaching another peak and in dire situation, but Sadat Lari doesn’t mention of it in her list of critical provinces! In the same way of “psychological manipulation”, the Ministry of Health Spokesperson said,”Khuzestan, Hormozgan, Kurdistan, Bushehr and Kermanshah have the highest number of admissions. This number is increasing in Tehran and Fars too.” While many provinces have been dropped off the list by Lari, it’s the first time they admit Tehran is seeing surge in cases too. But even this didn’t stop the reopening of movie theaters from today! West Azerbaijan is reaching to a point where Friday Prayers are suspended again! All crowded areas are closed for 2 weeks and wearing mask is mandatory now! Khorasan Razavi is another province in critical condition with no mention of it in “official” reports.
Rouhani and his gang in “Security, safety and intelligence committee” of the National Task Force allow 6 Governors to decide about certain aspects of controlling their provinces, if they want to reimpose some restrictions in cultural, educational, religious and businesses affairs. Kurdistan, Hormozgan, West Azerbaijan, Bushehr, Kermanshah and Khuzestan are those provinces with “special” powers. In the meantime, Chaharmahal-Bakhtiari officials are worried the increased number of cases could mean they’re next on line for critical situation.
Basic Reproduction Rate (R0) and graphs keep indicating the crisis. However, a curious jump in the number of recoveries even though deaths, infections and critical cases are increasing on a daily basis make us anticipate even more manipulation in numbers in order to show Islamic Republic’s control on the situation!
R0: 1.27
Total: 215,096 (+2,595)
