Islamic Republic is in deep trouble and is in a damned-if-you-do-damned-if-you-don’t kind of situation. Sima Sadat Lari, the Spokesperson for Ministry of Health, announced 144 deaths and 2,489 cases since yesterday. That’s the highest number of daily deaths since April 5, a week before restrictions were lifted. Lari continued her pattern in announcing the name of provinces in critical condition by adding, subtracting, dividing and any other math equation and speech therapy techniques she knows to pretend the situation is not as bad. She said, “Khuzestan, Kurdistan, Kermanshah, Hormozgan, West Azerbaijan and Kurdistan are designated red and Bushehr, Ilam, East Azerbaijan and Khorasan Razavi are “alarming”.” Whatever “alarming” means! Tehran was one of the omitted provinces from the list. Nahid Khoda Karami, head of Health Commission in Tehran City Council, announced 5,000 have died of COVID-19 in Tehran so far. That’s just Tehran!
Islamic Republic Reducing Numbers
Even by manipulating the numbers and manufacturing the increased number of recoveries, death can’t be cheated. However, they have thought of a clever way to reduce the daily cases and deaths!
Rouhani and Ministry of Health officials have insisted on one thing since the surge in cases and deaths has returned (Yes, the second wave, but let’s go with Islamic Republic’s very knowledgeable mullahs and experts and say it’s still the first wave), “It’s mostly due to increased testing and “active case finding”, Jahanpur, the former Spokesman said it first, Rouhani continued and it spread through the whole system, even to provincial officials. However, as established before by depicting it on a graph and the fact that the tests never increased that much to account for the increased cases, there are reports that now tests are only being done on “people over 60 and those with preexisting conditions.” Head of Kermanshah’s Medical University announced the new directive by the Ministry! Therefore, removing a huge chunk of population out of the problem, pretending the cases are decreasing!
Another effective way Islamic Republic is taking to MAKE the numbers go down is charging people for being admitted to hospitals. Before this, there was contradictory statements by the Health Minister himself and his deputies with local reports, but now, Hormozgan officials say, “According to Ministry’s directive anybody without insurance would be charged for any services received due to COVID-19.” The people struggling with poverty all over the country, how are they supposed to go to hospitals for help if they have to pay more than half of their monthly paycheck just to get better?! It reduces both cases and deaths numbers!
Reports of Critical Situation
Instead of killing people intentionally in order to save faces, they shouldn’t have held Friday Prayers! Qom and other cities which held the weekly regime’s propaganda platform report increased cases of positive coronavirus tests! Ilam is sounding the alarms for increased cases as well. Kuzestan and Hormozgan are in dire need of healthcare staff and ventilators. According to head of Ahvaz’s Medical University, 80% of hospital beds are occupied. He said, “There are only 3 ICU specialists serving the whole province.” Yes, 3 specialists for a province with more than 4.7 million people and in critical status! Head of Hormozgan’s Medical University also expressed his disappointment for not having enough personnel to deal with the critical condition in his province. He said, “People need to take this seriously, coronavirus has damaged our healthcare system dearly and our staff are burned out and exhausted.”
West Azerbaijan which is another critical province was the host of Iraj Harirchi, Deputy Health Minister. He reiterated his points about the importance of wearing mask and said it would be mandatory to wear masks in public spaces from next week, especially in red zones. Why “next week”? How much worse should it get for the officials to understand even 1 life is sacred and losing it would devastate families for the rest of their life?! He did teach the process of making a mask at home live on TV. He’s the same top official who was coughing on live TV without wearing a mask back when the outbreak was first announced in Iran saying, “This is nothing too serious, flu is worse than coronavirus,” despite many experts warning him and other regime’s officials to take COVID-19 seriously. He reported he was ill the next day! How is anybody going to take him seriously?!
AlamolHoda, Khamenei’s Representative in Mashhad, the second biggest city in Iran and home to “Imam Reza” holy shrine which is one of the main sources of income for the regime, has voiced his concern about keeping the shrine closed. Under Khamenei’s pressure, the outside yards of the shrine has been opened to the public a few weeks ago but that wasn’t enough for him, pressuring the government to open the shrine as well. However, even before that, Mashhad and Khorasan Razavi are already showing spike in cases!
Despite all that disasterous situation across the country, Rouhani keep praising his response to coronavirus outbreak and when speaks to media or in broadcasted meetings, he can’t stop gloating and comparing Iran’s situation to US and other developed countries! Basic Reproduction Rate (R0) and graphs based on their imaginary numbers show the non-stop crisis in the country, the real numbers should be soaring through the roof!
