Based on fake and manipulated statistics of Islamic Republic’s Ministry of Health, daily death record is broken. Sima Sadat Lari announced 162 COVID-19 deaths in the past 24 hours and 2,536 new cases in the same time period. She also confirmed Khuzestan, East & West Azerbaijan, Hormozgan, Bushehr, Khorasan Razavi, and Kermanshah are in red status when Ilam, Lorestan and Golestan see increased cases in an alarming rate. Tehran’s head of Corona Combating Committee raised his concern about the surge in cases and said for the first time in many weeks, number of admissions has surpassed the number of recovered patients.
In the meantime, Epidemiology Committee of the National Task Force has issued its weekly report about analysis of statistics across the country, in the week ending on June 26. The report indicated “uptrend” or a “slight uptrend” in 18 of 31 provinces and the overall country is on gradual incline. However, the report includes many mismatch data with the stats provided by the Ministry of Health Spokesperson. Epidemiology Committee which also operates under the Ministry of Health announced Zanjan in a critical condition with an upward trend, Isfahan, Qazvin, Fars, Hamedan with increased cases and uptrend, Khorasan Razavi, Qom, Mazandaran, Golestan, Gilan with an upward trend but not many cases, South Khorasan, Kerman, Chaharmahal-Bakhtiari with a slight upward trend and not many cases. Comparing this list and their description with the daily report from Sadat Lari in the past week, clarifies just how much right hand doesn’t know what the left does. This is apart from “mismatch data” in description for Kohgiloyeh-Boyerahmad, Sistan-Baluchestan, Ardebil, and Hamedan in the report. Epidemiologists also mention East Azerbaijan, Kermanshah and Markazi have passed a peak and are on the decline. Markazi, Hamedan, Ardebil, and Zanjan were never once mentioned in Lari’s daily announcements.
On the other hand, South Khorasan officials say they have increased cases of “respiratory diseases” in province’s hospitals. In the statement from the official a new color was discovered on the country’s “Corona Map”. He mentioned several cities are designated red (extremely dangerous), several are orange (dangerous), some considered yellow (mildly dangerous) and two counties are white (least dangerous). An official from Mashhad’s Medical University, the second biggest city in the country and capital of Khorasan Razavi, reported the highest number of daily COVID-19 cases in the city from the beginning of the outbreak. He said, “The situation is beyond “red” and very critical.”
The crisis in Mashhad doesn’t mean Khamenei’s Representative in the city, Alamolhoda, won’t try persuading people what they see is wrong! He said, “The reason for successful controlling of coronavirus in Mashhad was the fact that our devout Basijis took control of everything. They had a huge screening program, they even screened people at hotels. They provided a nurse and a physician with post-admission care to everybody! That’s why deaths decreased in Mashhad. Whatever we have achieved in the country to defeat Corona is because Basij took over the operation, from treatment to dealing with its impacts.” No comment!
Head of Alborz’s Medical University also raised his concern over the increased number of cases in his province. Sistan-Baluchestan officials announced their hospitals are nearly at full capacity with COVID-19 patients. At the same time, officials from Shiraz Medical University are worried about shortage of healthcare staff when the virus is raging through Fars’ cities. They say the “89-day nurses” who were hired at the beginning of the epidemic are still working with the same conditions and their contracts may have to be renewed for a third and a fourth time too.
With the crisis at its full force, the government has just mandated wearing masks in public spaces from next week, probably waiting for some more people to die first! The blaming game continues and people are at the top of the list when the authorities all have done a “great job” in “controlling” the virus since day one. The basic reproduction rate (R0) and graphs depict a clear picture of the human catastrophe in Iran and marks the incompetency of Islamic Republic in managing the situation even after more than 132 days! It’s worth noting, these are all based on Ministry’s wishful numbers!
R0: 1.28
Total: 225,205 (+2,536)
Dead: 10,670 (+162)
Healed: 186,180
Critical: 3,037 (+91)
Admitted: 28,355 (-496)
Tests: 1,639,078 (Number of labs wasn’t mentioned in today’s news. Officials may have finally figured out there are discrepancies when they lie.)
