The novel coronavirus continues spreading through Iran and Islamic Republic continue its inaction! 147 more Iranians passed away of COVID-19 in the past 24 hours. According to Sima Sadat Lari, the Ministry of Health Spokesperson, 2,457 new cases were confirmed in the same time period. However, there have been more changes in who is eligible to take a test! Previously, they announced people under 60 and/or without preexisting conditions are not eligible, today, a new directive has been distributed by the Ministry that only symptomatic cases who have been in contact with a confirmed patient could take the test! Another way for the regime to save money, show lower infections and deaths due to COVID-19, and in the meantime, kill more Iranians!
Moreover, Lari announced 8 provinces in red status, including: East & West Azerbaijan, Kurdistan, Bushehr, Hormozgan, Khuzestan, Kermanshah and Khorasan Razavi, while Sistan-Baluchestan, Ilam, Lorestan and Golestan are designated as “alarming”. However, Iraj Harirchi, Deputy Health Minister, announced “special actions will be taken” in the 13 “red” provinces. He mentioned the aforementioned 8 in addition to Kerman, Sistan-Baluchestan, Alborz, Fars, and Tehran. He didn’t say what those “actions” are to control the virus.
In the meantime, deputy head of Tehran Medical University said about 50% of all tests performed lead to admission of the patient and in the next 15 days we could face even more cases and deaths! Another deputy of the Tehran Medical University said, “we’re reversing to mid-March days when we had the most amount of cases and deaths.” Alborz Governor also confirmed our previous reports saying, “We’re on a steep upward trend and designated the province as “red”.”
After more than 133 days from the official outset of the epidemic in Iran, the state-owned media have been given the green light to attack the government, when in fact, the whole Islamic Republic apparatus, from top to bottom were in this catastrophe making together! Khamenei telling people “corona is not a big deal,” “pray for it,” “it’s a biological attack with the help of jinns,” and so many other quotes at the worst possible times, IRGC by hoarding health products and suffocating any citizen reporter trying to reveal the truth, media by regurgitating the same talking points and Rouhani’s administration’s mistakes could be covered in a book! Even now, with daily death records breaking even based on their manipulated and engineered numbers, the regime is not doing anything to combat COVID-19, other than blaming people and hesitating to reimpose restrictions. Rabiei, Government Spokesman, made it clear today that no nationwide restrctions could be imposed. If that doesn’t happen, in a close knitted country like Iran, no travel restrictions mean every single city would be involved. With healthcare staff and hospital resources all burned out and exhausted, the catastrophe would be even worse than we can imagine!
While the total number of deaths is announced as 10,817, Civil Registration Organization has released the total number of deaths in Spring 2020, which shows about 19,000 more deaths compared to Spring last year, and 20,000 more than Spring 2018! Another proof that the stats provided by Islamic Republic are nothing but malarkey! Basic Reproduction Rate (R0) and graphs have always been good indicators since day 1, if there was anybody looking at them!
