Having done 24,731 novel coronavirus tests yesterday, was a point of pride for Kianoush Jahanpour, the Ministry of Health Spokesman. As it is visible in graphs, it was the highest number of daily tests done, but at the same time, showed that “more active case finding” doesn’t correspond with the number of daily cases as much as the Islamic Republic officials want people to believe! Also, if active case finding was the cause of more cases and critical conditions in Khuzestan, Bushehr, Sistan-Baluchestan, Kermanshah, Kurdistan, Khorasan Razavi, Lorestan, Hormozgan, Qazvin, East & West Azerbaijan, South Khorasan, and Kerman, why doesn’t this case finding become more active day by day and fluctuates, again, visible in graphs. The virus is spreading much faster than Islamic Republic can hide it!
Khuzestan is still in serious condition. Abadan’s Special Governor said, “First days of the epidemic, we had 70-80 daily cases, in the past few days, there are more than 1000 in Abadan, and 98 deaths in southwest Khuzestan.” He added one of Abadan hospitals is at full capacity and if the other 2 become full too, they would have no other choice, whatever that means. He made us aware of a new committe in the country, “Every day, at 3 PM, Medical University must secretly send the name, phone number and address of new cases to the “Health Police” and they would have them under surveillance and control!” Anything more Should be said about this new way of invasion of privacy in a dictatorship like Islamic Republic!?
While COVID-19 cases soar in the country, Abdul Azim holy shrine in Tehran province reopened its doors to people and will hold prayers from tomorrow as well. Despite what Rouhani and other Islamic Republic officials would like to induce and gloat about “controlling” and “containing” the virus after 110 days, the number of provinces designated “red” or “critical” is increasing every day. Mashhad officials, the second biggest city in the country, sound the alarms that spread from neighboring provinces could cause problems again. The same thing happened to South Khorasan which is now in trouble. Asadabad city in Hamedan province has transformed from “white” to “yellow”. Unsurprisingly, all officials blame people for not following social distancing rules and causing the spread! At least, “active case finding” is losing its place in their nonsense.
Shiraz Medical University officials also voice their concern over the increased number of cases in the city and Fars province in general. They also say people have become insensitive to coronavirus! While in fact, they should put the blame on Khamenei and Rouhani who either have been downplaying the disease since day 1 one or lied about the numbers and said everything is “under control”.
2,043 new cases and 70 deaths have been confirmed since yesterday. According to officials, 110 healthcare workers have lost their lives to Islamic Republic’s crisis (mis)management. Even with the fake and manipulated official numbers, basic reproduction rate (R0) and growth factors indicate the ongoing crisis.
