Happy New Year to all who celebrate Nowruz! 149 deaths and 1237 new confirmed cases are added to the victims of COVID-19 in Iran in the past 24 hours, according to the country’s Ministry of Health official. The deputy health minister says, “We see a decline in 13 provinces and I appreciate the people following self-quarantine instructions and hope others would join them.” Despite this statement, the numbers show a constant increase in the number of infected and deaths, in fact, the new confirmed cases since yesterday are more than the day before.

It is also worth mentioning, as shown in the map below, Tehran, Isfahan, Gilan, Mazandaran and Alborz cases are rising day after day!
And here is another conflicting fact: Jahanpur, Health Ministry Spokesperson tweeted: “Based on our information, every 10 minutes one person dies from the coronavirus and about 50 people become infected with the virus every hour.”
3 children have been admitted at Babol’s Amir Kala Hospital. Two of them are in ICU and a 4 year old was discharged today. Babol was the entrance gate of Coronavirus to Mazandaran province. There are currently 400 suspected cases are in hospitals across this city and 250 have tested positive.
Golestan Governor reports 12.5billion Toman (around $3million) donations from people to equip the hospitals, while President Rouhani keep thanking IRGC for what they’re doing, which I wish I knew what it was! Rouhani also said, “It’s a good contest attempting to defeat Corona.” Not joking!
The ministry of health has launched a new website for Coronavirus information, as a reference for Iranians but just like other websites for this purpose, it doesn’t load at all!
The Islamic Republic has gone full force to have the US sanctions lifted against Iran with the excuse of curbing the disease. China, Russia, and many Democrats in the US have been raising their concern about sanctions hampering Iran’s efforts to combat COVID-19. But, Secretary of State, Pompeo, has refused their claim and emphatically said, medicine and humanitarian aid are not sanctioned, and US has and will continue to offer help to Iran but it has been refused by the regime so far. In a report by Reuters, US sent a blunt message to Iran: The spread of the coronavirus will not save you from U.S. sanctions.
Qatar’s shipment of 7 tonnes of medical supplies arrived Iran today. All international aids from various countries and international organizations have ended up in black markets creating a new stream of income for IRGC and the regime at the price of people’s lives. Here is an example of what was posted on Twitter from an Iranian claiming her parents have bought these masks on the black market!
Hesamaddin Ashena, head of President’s Strategic Research Center, predicted that Corona will be gone from Iran by the end of the year (March 20, 2021) and the sanctions will be lifted in the same time-frame.
Shortage of ethanol has led some people buying fake alcohol from black market causing more than 62 deaths in Ahvaz, Khuzestan alone! The mistrust between the regime and people is so deep that even after the state-owned media debunked the rumor of consuming alcohol would prevent/treat Corona, people look for any means necessary to combat COVID-19 on their own. And a few bad apple taking advantage of desperate people, mix methanol with bleach to get rid of its color and sell that poison to people.
