Another example of chaos was unmasked today! Yesterday, Rouhani announced Quds Day’s ceremony plans for Tehran and the rest of the country. Today, Islamic Propaganda Coordinating Council announced there would be no demonstrations or ceremonies in the country because Ali Khamenei would be speaking to the nation on TV! I guess even Khamenei is afraid of another “human error” by IRGC!
Rouhani saying we have passed the peak and everything is under control is no surprise! Jahanpur, the Ministry of Health Spokesman, blaming the increased number of daily cases on “active case finding” is business as usual! But today, Dr. Minoo Mohraz, a member of National Committee for Infectious Diseases, told Farhikhtegan daily newspaper that 99% of people have not been tested, so we can’t say we have passed the peak or not! She also admitted comparing Iran’s situation with US is pointless, since US has done more than 11million tests while Iran has performed 650,000 only! This is another jab at the regime’s claims of “magnificent management” of the crisis by one of their own.
Iran University of Medical Sciences, the executioner of COVID-19 National Gauging, warns about relaxing the restrictions and its direct relation with reduced preventative measures by the people. At the same time, head of Iran Psychology Association asks Rouhani to convene a special “psychology committee” to help with the Corona impacts on population. There have been increased number of suicides and mental illnesses cases in the country since the outbreak has started.
Fars is joining Khuzestan and Lorestan in a very critical situation. The infected cases have reached 3 digits even in cities with less than 25,000 residents. Despite that “Eid Fitr” prayer would be held in all mosques according to Head of Shiraz Medical University!
Interestingly enough, following the normalization project, there was no press conference by any Ministry of Health official! The numbers keep going up. Jahanpur insists that’s because of more active case findings and more tests but even their own twisted numbers doesn’t show any increase in the number of daily tests. Growth factors remain above 1 and the basic reproduction rate (R0) of 1.22 means the virus has not been contained at all.
