Today, the last Friday of Ramadan, was “Quds Day” which usually means a pro-regime demonstration all over the country with incentives such as free food (to take home since supposedly everybody would be fasting), free transportation,… and threat of repercussions if not attended by government employees, students,… A lot of “Death to America” and “Death to Israel” with Khamenei to speak at the Friday Prayers, spewing hate towards Israel and Jews. But this year, the novel coronavirus has taken it all away except the last part!
Khamenei did his usual dance in front of cameras and talked nonsense that Palestinians and Muslims around the world want Israel gone,…. He even compared the COVID-19 pandemic with Israel and US actions in the region, “While everybody is counting every single death due to coronavirus, nobody cares about the lives lost by terrorist acts of US and Israel.” And gave some directives for his “followers”! Proudly said Islamic Republic will always support Palestinians however it can! We all know what that means, financially, arms, and else.
This is all when Iranian people are starving to death from poverty, and can’t stay home due to the outbreak because they can’t afford to! This is all when Iranian people are dying in the streets but shipments of arms and cash arrive in Lebanon and Palestine to fight an imaginary enemy created 41 years ago by Khomeini! This is nothing but a theocratic regime led by kleptocrats at all levels, not caring for their people.
Thanks to Khamenei, there was no other news covered in the country! For example, the fact that Mazandaran Governor has issued a warning asking people not to travel to his province because COVID-19 is still a real and live threat! Head of Boroujerd’s Health Network, in Lorestan, said, “Unfortunately, people thinking the crisis is over, are not following social distancing rules and we’re having an increased number of infections and admissions.” An official from Takab, a city in West Azerbaijan, follows the same line as Jahanpur, saying the increased number of cases in his city was because of more “active case finding”! Which is nothing but another lie in their collections, since the number of daily tests has stayed in the same range.
In the meantime, Jahanpur announced 2,311 new cases and 51 deaths in the past 24 hours. Let’s not forget, it’s been more than 90 days since the crisis was officially announced in Iran! 3 months and still people dying and officials looking for an excuse! They should find the reason in their malicious acts, incompetence and corruption!
