Islamic Republic President continues stirring up the chaos and lies about COVID-19 vaccination in Iran. According to Hassan Rouhani, 30million doses are ready to be administered in Iran. He also asked people to take “whatever that is available” but the problem is, there is nothing available! So far only 3,195,800 have been imported and the rest has been empty promises. Sputnik V was supposed to start manufacturing in Iran from the end of April and 60million doses to be imported from May 22. In the meantime, Javad Zarif claims “considerable amount of vaccine” will be imported from China soon! Both Sinopharm and an unidentified shot have been criticized by scientists about their efficacy!
Meanwhile, Scientific Vice President of the Rare Diseases Foundation criticized the regime for the too slow vaccination process. Mehdi Norouzi estimated that only 20,000 of 1,000,000 patients have received a shot, despite the Ministry of Health officials trumpeting in Islamic Republic controlled media that “the next phase has started,” and bold small numbers for each province.
Islamic Republic Ministry of Health announced 1,548,615 total shots have been administered across Iran since February 9. And only 262,211 are fully vaccinated against COVID-19.

Despite the worry about Indian, Indian-Californian and South African coronavirus variants in Iran, and critical situation in Tehran, Fars, Gilan, Mazandaran and other provinces, Islamic Republic Ministry of Health released the new list of “high risk” areas in the country, when in reality the status of each city must be designated every Monday. According to the new list, Tehran and Mashhad and other provincial capitals are downgraded to “orange” and “yellow,” opening the way for lax restrictions. Even movie theaters are reopening and causing concern for some health experts.
While students continue their protests against in-person final exams, National Task Force Spokesman insisted that it has been approved and nothing would change. Dr. Raisi said the final exams will be held between May 17 and June 14. He also announced the National University Entrance Exam (Konkour) will be held on June 30 to July 3. Last year, the in-person exams were one of the reasons for the next cluster of coronavirus infections in Iran.
The Ministry of Health Spokesperson claimed 283 died of COVID-19 in Iran in the past 24hrs while 13,576 tested positive for the novel coronavirus. Iran Medical Board officials have admitted the real figures are at least 3 times higher than what is reported. Sima Sadat Lari has not provided any numbers in regards to specific variants. Critical cases continue to rise as seen on the graphs.
