Another 1,529 Iranians are tested positive for COVID-19 and 48 died in the past 24 hours according to the fake “official” Ministry of Health numbers. In the meantime, Deputy Health Minister, Iraj Harirchi, spoke to the press through video conference. He admitted the situation in Khuzestan, especially Ahvaz and its outskirts, is red and must be addressed immediately. He continued, “Changing a city from “white” to “yellow” is not a big deal, because the numbers are so low, they’re negligible.” He added, “The main problem in the world is not so much the virus and the disease but its economic impacts!!” He said that while according to their underestimated numbers 6,589 people have died in the country! Once more, a subtle clue into what is more important to Islamic Republic officials and why the lockdown restrictions were lifted so suddenly, before the downward trend started.
“We predict the downtrend will continue for 1-2 months. There might be some small increase in some provinces but won’t affect the country’s overall trend. When the number of infected from million people is down to a few, small fluctuations are normal.” Does that tell you anything?
He emphasized, “We will return to previous restrictions if a city shows increase in the numbers.” But according to Ahvaz’s Jundishapur Medical University, even the name of cities not corresponding to the definitions have not been removed from “white zones”.
Dr Minoo Mohraz, a member of National Contagious Combating Committee, said, “Corona will come back in a stronger wave and mixed with flu cases will create a much worse situation, unless everybody in the country abide by the social distancing instructions.” It’s worth noting, she was one of the advocates of “Corona is just like flu” camp, at the beginning of the outbreak causing people not to take it seriously! It seems like her orders have changed recently.
Today’s interesting implicit confessions are revelations in the series of chaotic management in Islamic Republic. Every day an official says something in direct contrast to another or contradictions of what they had said before all this started. And some like Harirchi lets a big number slip his tongue! Lies have piled up and it’s getting harder and harder to keep up.
The ongoing crisis of the novel Coronavirus in Iran is not something that could be managed with relaxed restrictions! There are even talks of opening universities after Ramadan (May 23). However, the graphs, basic reproduction rate (R0) and growth factors, all depict an opposite picture!
