Islamic Republic officials are trying their best to make people “trust the healthcare system!” A healthcare system which its leaders have been servants of the “Supreme Leader” and not cared for the people they swore to serve. As IranTrue reported earlier, the people of Iran have deep distrust in the entire system, even in COVID-19 matter. Today, a member of Social Commission at Islamic Republic “parliament”, asked people to “trust the healthcare system in the vaccination process.”
At the same time, COVIran Barekat “is submitting its clinical trial results to WHO” seeking approval, after being administered to Iranians for months! However, its production never met the promises made by its developers. The current Vice President had promised 50m doses would be delivered to the Ministry of Health by September 22, but until today, about 8m have been distributed across Iran.
The Ministry of Health claimed total of 59,658,307 shots have been administered in Iran since February 9, and only 17,208,581 (20.48% of population) have received both doses of ineffective vaccines, majorly Sinopharm and COVIran Barekat.
While less than recommended 85% of population have been fully vaccinated, Islamic Republic has started rolling out “smart quarantine” which bans people from receiving social services, including banking and travel services if not vaccinated. Qazvin has begun the process as the pilot location. Ministry of Health official warns that people evading vaccination will be “fined and prosecuted, according to the law!” Farhadi also said employees that have not been vaccinated may not work.
On the other hand, Safar’s last days “mourning rituals” immediately after Arbaeen, has accelerated the chance of the sixth wave. Kish Island official expresses his concern over people “assuming normalization of situation” which could lead to another outbreak. Shiraz Medical University reported more than 2,000 hospitalized COVID-19 patients in Fars hospitals.
The Ministry of Health Spokesperson announced 216 have died of COVID-19 in the past 24 hours and 13,226 tested positive for the novel coronavirus. Professor of Epidemiology at Tehran University believes these numbers must be multiplied by 7 and Civil Registration Organization data show more than 288,000 have died of the disease since February 202. Graphs illustrate the ongoing humanitarian catastrophe in the past 19 months.
