Islamic Republic and another record in COVID-19 daily death toll since the epidemic has begun in Iran, in February 2020! 239 have died of the deadly coronavirus in the past 24 hours while 4,019 were confirmed by PCR test, according to widely discredited Ministry of Health’s stats. Another record was the critical cases. 4,274 are admitted in ICUs across the country while many hospitals have reported full capacity, especially in Tehran and other major metropolitan areas.
Some officials have reached to the conclusion and admitted that in the past 8 months, they’ve been doing a horrible job of managing the COVID-19 crisis. Despite that, nothing has changed and again everything is postponed to the “next Saturday,” as if any other day is not suitable for any decision to take effect! Critical decisions that could save lives keeps getting postponed for when National Task Force convenes once a week! Harirchi, Deputy Health Minister, announced wearing mask is mandatory in all areas of Tehran, including streets/sidewalks, from Saturday! He also said there’s fine for whom don’t follow the rules but the details will be decided on Saturday.
But wearing mask is not enough! Social distancing is the most important part of preventing the virus to spread but unfortunately, the government has no intention in addressing the issue. Even though the capital is supposed to be on lockdown this week, this is a peek into two examples during the restrictions.

Tomorrow, Thursday, October 8, is Arbain and holiday. Even though all provincial officials asked the National Task Force presided by President of Islamic Republic to ban traveling between cities/provinces but it was shrugged off and nothing happened, so the government would have something/someone to blame for the unstoppable crisis. On the other hand, the religious sect of the country would be attending crowded rituals to mourn 40th day of “Imam Hossein” death! Muharram gatherings and their effects on worsening the situation was not enough but Islamic Republic wants to repeat their failure!
Basic Reproduction Rate (R0) and graphs indicate the ongoing human disaster in Iran while Islamic Republic continue to blame US sanctions and people for its own mismanagement, lies and deceptions. It’s all chaos and no will to even enforce the “protocols” they devise!
