According to Qazvin and Qom officials, the number of new cases has been increasing and they called their province’s status as “beyond red.” Head of Qom Medical University announced 92 admissions in the past 24 hours which is more than twice the average in previous weeks! He added, “2 weeks after Muharram gatherings and travelings we see a new peak and from Wednesday we should consider Qom as “beyond red.” Qazvin official stated the same and confirmed our reports that Muharram gatherings’ effects are revealing themselves, just as predicted. They emphasized on refraining from attending gatherings, wearing masks and online classes for students, the opposite of what Rouhani and other officials have said on many occasions!
However, Rouhani keeps calling those gatherings as “a model for future” and other gatherings in the month of Safar! Meaning the President of Islamic Republic would like to continue holding crowded gatherings regardless of their risks and consequences! In the meantime, he implicitly confirmed our reports about unpaid wages of the healthcare staff and ordered Central Bank of Iran to resolve the issues. But the problem is the bank’s reserve is empty! Unpaid wages, 7 months risking their lives, shortage of nurses, overflown hospitals,… all have caused the healthcare system to collapse and incapable of handling yet another wave of patients!
Sima Sadat Lari, the Ministry of Health, continues to provide daily stats, the stats which have been widely scrutinized and proven manipulated! She announced 2,063 new cases and 129 deaths since yesterday. She also mentioned the same 28 provinces in critical status, this has been the case for more than 2 months! However, what’s alarming the most is the number of active cases is at the highest point since the pandemic has begun! According to official stats there are currently 31,848 patients admitted in hospitals with 3,728 in critical condition. That means we’ve reached another peak in COVID-19 in Iran in under 7 months! The average positivity rate has also increased in the past 7 days compared to the week before! All that proves how inefficient, inept and lying the officials of Islamic Republic are.
