Rouhani keeps on talking about “successful” containement of the novel coronavirus in Iran while more than 93% of Iran population, 28 of 31 provinces, remain in critical condition, according to “official” stats. President of Islamic Republic, at the weekly National Corona Combating Task Force meeting, emphasized once more that “lockdown is not the solution.” He says that while Iran has been ravaged by COVID-19 for more than 7 months and NO true lockdown was even tried! Harirchi called quarantining epicenters as “barbaric” and “pre-WWI era solution and ineffective,” while most countries around the world implemented lockdown and quarantine at different degrees and proved they could save lives!
Rouhani and his “National Task Force” have failed to address simplest tasks during COVID-19 crisis and have gathered weekly to have a chat, broadcast a show of “success” for people to cover up the fact that thousands of people have lost their lives and livelihoods because of this regime every single day.
Sima Sadat Lari announced 2,139 new cases and 116 deaths in the past 24 hours. Active cases have risen again, setting a new record since the pandemic onset in February 2020 with 32,395. Critical cases have increased for the second day in a row and with the record number of admissions, deaths surge is expected in near future. The situation has gotten worse after Muharram gatherings as we warned about them for weeks but unfortunately that doesn’t stop Islamic Republic to learn its lesson since human lives mean nothing to them! Rouhani reiterated today that commemoration of 40th day of “Imam Hossein” death, known as “Arbain”, will be carried out and it will be a success since Muharram gatherings “went well.”
Islamic Republic has had no plan whatsoever other than telling people to wash their hands, suffocate any criticism or citizen reporter including minors, and manipulating data! Testing remains at the lowest level between other hard-hit countries and “protocols” proved to be inefficient because they’re not enforced properly! The whole country is going downhill in all aspects. With the national currency (IRR) hitting a new lowest record in history, the skyrocketing inflation and soaring infection, people are slowly dying and they know it but they’re faced with a brutal regime which kills innocent protesters in cold blood, the latest of which was Navid Afkari case!
Basic Reproduction Rate (R0) and graphs indicate the worsening situation even after 7 months of struggling! Healthcare system and staff have collapsed but still doing their best on the front line despite Islamic Republic not even paying their wages!
