Muharram gatherings keep revealing its effects! The increasing number of COVID-19 cases in almost all provinces is dreadful but it doesn’t make Islamic Republic officials to do anything! Provincial officials keep sounding the alarm about soaring cases, especially among the young individuals, shortage of beds and exhausted healthcare staff on a daily basis but none of those would change the overall policy of Islamic Republic: Tell bigger lies and people would believe it! On the way to achieve that goal, they keep stifling citizen reporters, whistleblowers and social media platforms!
Sima Sadat Lari announced 2,619 new cases and 156 deaths from the novel coronavirus infection in the past 24 hours. That’s a huge jump from the day before and a massive increase in active cases across the country. 28 provinces remain critical and many report sharp uptrend in their cases. While some experts have already started to blame people for their travels over Muharram holidays, they also implicitly say the gatherings play a huge role, and in a suffocating environment, that’s really saying something!
Dr Zali, head of Tehran Corona Combating Committee, says the capital is experiencing the third wave earlier than other provinces and soon it will become worse! He confirmed the previous reports that Tehran is seeing a surge in cases, deaths and admissions. He said the Committee is asking for the “remote working” to be continued and some more restrictions to be imposed. However, Tehran Governor has said the exact opposite is happening from next week and “remote working” will not be in place anymore! That’s how coordinated everything is.
Basic Reproduction Rate (R0) increases two points, indicating worse days are yet to come, and graphs confirm that grim future, however, Islamic Republic would continue to manipulate the data and use state-controlled media to incite to people that everything is “just fine.” In the meantime, testing remains in the same low range and no new law or policy is implemented to save a life!
