Even though the Islamic Republic’s official data show Delta variant is slowing down in Iran, COVID-19 hospitalizations and critical cases remain high. Chairman of Tehran Corona Combating Committee reported 111 deaths in Tehran for yesterday and “predicted” the capital’s daily death toll would enter the 2-digit territory by Tuesday or Wednesday. Meanwhile, Khorasan Razavi official warns about the sixth wave coming from the eastern borders. Dr. Shabestari said in a month, due to increased traffic on the eastern borders with Afghanistan, the sixth wave is expected. He added, “we must have 70% of eligible population fully vaccinated with 2 doses, to prevent the flood of patients!” A tall order that Eynollahi has promised he would deliver. Dr. Souri, head of “rapid response team” of the Ministry of Health confirmed the next wave could begin as the weather gets cooler.
Mr. Health Minister also insists on reopening schools and today, FDA announced the Chinese Sinopharm and Pasteur Insitutes’s collaborating work with Cuba, PastoCoVac, have been approved for use in 3 17-year olds. According to the regime’s ambassador in Beijing, 12m doses of Sinopharm will be imported within the next 2 weeks. He also claimed 60m more doses will arrive in the next 1.5 months.

Civil Registration Organization data proves the official data are at least 2.5 times less than reality, with more than 280,000 deaths since February 2020.
