Another Saturday and another National Corona Combating Task Force “get-together.” Rouhani sitting in his chair praising his work and blaming people, while Saeed Namaki reports with manipulated numbers to make his boss happy and people “relaxed.” However, even their own widely undercounted numbers are grim and active cases are through the roof which indicates more deaths in the near future.
Today, Rouhani pulled something else out of his sleeves, whether to scare people into following “protocols” or to downplay the coronavirus crisis in the country! He said, without giving any specifics, that in one of our neighboring countries, there’s a “new disease mimicking pneumonia that’s even more dangerous than coronavirus!” The only thing he could be referring to is a virus China had claimed spreading in Kazakhstan, which again China claimed to be deadlier than COVID-19! However, the Kazakhstan officials immediately and firmly denied such assertions! Mystery illness in a mystery country is prioritized over COVID-19 in Iran! Apparently, other than selling Iran to China, Islamic Republic officials are following China’s playbook to the letter!
In the meantime, Namaki, the man in charge of Health matters in the country, is happy that the producer of COVID-19 vaccine is an Indian-Iranian Zoroastrian who has promised Namaki to sell Islamic Republic 20,000,000 doses of the vaccine! First of all, kudos to Namaki for getting him to deal with Islamic Republic! Secondly, how did they make that deal is the main question. Because according to a representative at the “parliament”, the money regime has paid for flu vaccine is tied up in Turkey and can’t be moved due to sanctions. On the other hand, Ministry of Health Spokesperson tells reporters that 2.5 million doses of flu vaccine will be distributed soon! And this is just Saturday, the first day of the week in Iran and the sheer volume of confusion and chaos!
Sima Sadat Lari continued her daily routine as well and announced 2,845 new confirmed cases of COVID-19 and 166 deaths in the past 24 hours! Active cases are recording a new record every day and no new plan or restriction is implement by Islamic Republic. Graphs continue to predict a harsh future!
