Even Islamic Republic officials admit COVIran Barekat vaccine is not a “completely domestic vaccine“. According to Fars, IRGC-affiliated News Agency, the officials’ promise to deliver 50m doses by September 22 did not happen because “Indian and Chinese engineers were sick with COVID-19!” On the other hand, as usual, they blame the lies told by the current Vice President on US sanctions! However, based on Customs reports, Chinese materials to start the manufacturing line arrived months ago! The article suggests 50m doses will be ready by 1.5months delay, a timeline which really does not matter, because the new “domestic vaccine”, Sinopharm has “flooded” Iran. Even students are receiving this jab while it is not yet approved by the WHO.
While students vaccination has begun in Iran, Dr. Tabarsi of Masih Daneshvari hospital in Tehran admits the Ministry of Health hasn’t yet announced whether the students under 18 should receive 1 or 2 doses! At the same time, he said the fifth wave may end in another month.
In the meantime, Islamic Republic pushes forward with importing millions of Sinopharm vaccines. A vaccine that is completely useless in people above 60. On the other hand, the regime continues to shift the blame from Khamenei to the previous administration about delayed importation of reliable vaccines. Customs officials claim Rouhani’s administration were more focused on importing cell phones by spending millions of dollars but “had no money for vaccines!” However, the officials fail to mention that Khamenei has banned US and UK made vaccines for his own benefit, forcing people to go to other countries to receive a reliable vaccines such as Pfizer.
The Ministry of Health claims total of 44,423,948 shots have been administered across Iran since February 9, while only 14,120,965 (16.81% of population) have received both doses of ineffective vaccines. An official from Shiraz Medical University said, analysis shows that at least 83% of population must be fully vaccinated to control the COVID-19 crisis, which Iran has a huge gap to fill.
Spokesperson for the Ministry of Health also claimed 344 died of COVID-19 in the past 24 hours and 17,397 tested positive for the novel coronavirus. Professor Holakoui believes these numbers must be multiplied by 7 to come close to reality! Civil Registration Organization statistics indicate more than 280,000 have died of the disease since February 2020. Graphs illustrate the past 19 months of crisis very well.
