All officials agree on devastating COVID-19 crisis in the country. Even Ministry of Health Spokesperson changed her every day line and mentioned 24 provinces in “red” and 5 in “alarming” status! According to her which is not quite in the same line as Deputy Health Minister Harirchi, Sistan-Baluchestan and Kurdistan are the only 2 provinces which are not struggling as much! In the meantime, Dr Zali, once again, warned something must be done in Tehran or in the next few weeks everything would get even worse!
According to the head of Corona Combating Committee in Tehran, the capital is in dreadful situation and all restrictions including remote working for employees and schools closures must be implemented immediately. He mentioned the required steps to take this under control have been sent to Saeed Namaki, Health Minister! If the past is any indication, there would be no significant step taken and people are the ones to be sacrificed!
Zali also admitted that Muharram gatherings were one of the major reasons for the third wave in Tehran, besides unnecessary trips! People’s frustration over the long term and exhausting protocols, therefore reducing their cooperation was mentioned as another reason for the resurgence of the coronavirus infections. Dr Zali also confirmed our reports and analysis saying premature reopenings including schools were another reason for soaring number of active cases and deaths!
On the other hand, head of “think tank room” in Tehran Corona Combating Committee criticized the National Task Force saying not banning travels between provinces and reopening the schools have been the biggest mistakes by the government in combating the COVID-19 crisis. However, what he doesn’t consider is the bigger picture. For Islamic Republic is not important how many people would die because of coronavirus but what could save its grip on power! For example, not banning trips would make people relax for a few days on the beaches and may be distracted for a while about devastating crises they’re dealing with on a daily basis. Islamic Republic would do anything possible to prevent another November 2019 uprising.
That includes manipulating numbers and using its propaganda machines around the world to change the narrative of what’s really going on in Iran, blaming everything on an imaginary “enemy”, “jinns” or people wherever needed. Even President of Islamic Republic increases the number of lies he usually tells just to keep people quiet for a few days. Last week, he said “Saturday-Sunday will be the days of celebration for Iranians.” He was referring to the UN sanctions being reimposed by US on Islamic Republic. He was sure EU will stand by his side, but they didn’t do anything other than a few political mumbo jumo to satisfy regime’s big ego!
Sima Sadat Lari announced 3,097 new cases of COVID-19 and 183 deaths in the past 24 hours. Number of active cases keep rising in multiple hundreds even though number of testings stays in the same range. Critical cases remain a mystery! Graphs depicts 7+ months of misery due to regime’s mishandling of the crisis.
