As COVID-19 ravages through Iran and almost all provinces are in “red” status with most of them experiencing soaring number of admissions and less recoveries, exhausted staff and overwhelmed hospitals with shortage of beds, Saeed Namaki puts on another bizarre show! Islamic Republic Health Minister writes a letter to the slain Qasem Soleimani, calling healthcare workers his soldiers and pretend to be “embarrassed” in front of them!
While he should be ashamed of his actions and being a “yes man” to Khamenei, he should compensate the staff properly and not having MONTHS in arrears of their wages! During COVID-19 epidemic, nurses and other healthcare professionals have held gatherings demanding their unpaid wages. He shouldn’t have allowed religious gatherings in Ramadan, Eid Fitr and Muharram. He shouldn’t have paved the way for Education Ministry to reopen schools, when he very well knew his “protocols” are useless. As usual, he blamed people saying they don’t follow his instructions! It’s like healthcare workers are not part of that same people!
Tehran, Isfahan, Shiraz, Mashhad, Tabriz and many other cities have sent letters to National Task Force asking for reimposing restrictions and allowing remote working. Dr Zali has issued a serious warning that restrictions must be implemented ASAP or “we would have serious problems in the coming weeks.” Isfahan also reported 1.5-2 times spikes in number of deaths. According to officials, Isfahan hospitals are almost at full capacity and demanding restrictions. But National Task Force only convenes meetings once every week, in which Rouhani would talk the talk and nothing happens. Islamic Republic wants to prevent any excuse that might rile up the mass population causing nationwide protests like in November 2019.
Another example of proper management in Islamic Republic revealed itself today! Head of Scientific Committee of National Task Force announced Favipiravir is not effective in treating COVID-19 patients and is removed from hospital protocols! Saeed Namaki bragged about “Made in Iran” Favipiravir being distributed in hospitals 2 months ago and how effective it is. If investigated, somebody has profited millions of dollars from tax payers’ money for a useless drug, probably costing thousands of people their lives!
Speaking of wasting millions of dollars, IRGC which “built” and promoted “Mostaan 110” coronavirus magnetic detector, is refusing to hold a press conference answering questions about its success! IRGC Spokesman has once again postponed such event to the “weeks ahead.” It’s worth noting it has already been proven on video, “Mostaan 110” is nothing but another fake invention by the terrorist group.
Sima Sadat Lari participated in her daily play and announced 3,605 new cases of COVID-19 and 184 deaths in the past 24 hours. Reports of students being infected at schools are pouring in from different provinces, causing them to close the schools. Experts warn about fall and concurrent infections with flu, common cold and other respiratory conditions such as asthma and allergies. They also warned about Muharram gatherings and schools reopening but regime authorities went their own way! They are already planning for “Arbain” gatherings.
Basic Reproduction Rate (R0) and graphs warned us about this human catastrophe, even though they’re calculated based on manipulated and highly undercounted numbers by the Ministry of Health. Active cases keep rising and critical cases remain a mystery. After more than 7 months since epidemic began in Iran, tests are only performed on a small number of people with symptoms who actually seek medical help, which due to the high cost of admission and treatment doesn’t happen unless they absolutely have no other choice!
