The schools reopening in Iran has become a huge issue for teachers, students and parents, just like any other country in the world, during the COVID-19 pandemic. The difference is, the Education Minister had previously said that students in red regions don’t need to go to school in-person on Saturday, September 5! Today, apparently he has changed his mind saying everybody must attend schools across the country in-person, even in red areas! That means roughly 13 million students who haven’t been out at the same time for almost 7 months, are to pour on to the streets of the country, only because the Health Minister and Education Minister say “health protocols” will be followed to a tee!
Since the beginning of the pandemic in Iran, not a single protocol has been implemented and enforced properly, let alone the poorly maintained and crowded schools in the country! How is it that Dr Zali says controlling coronavirus in Tehran is very difficult and reopening schools will make the situation worse, but that’s not taken into account?! Just because Islamic Republic wants to show the world they can “control” the virus?! While officials are warning left and right that third wave is coming, why risk the most vulnerable group to the deadly virus?! What has been the point of using colors for the map and designating cities and provinces red, yellow and white, if there’s no different in reopening or “protocols”?! It was just so a company (most probably an IRGC member or group behind it) would make the “Mask App” and get away with millions of dollars of tax payers’ money?! Just another chaos in the most chaotic government in the world!
While state-controlled media were happy about a 2-day decrease in numbers, Sima Sadat Lari announced 1,994 new cases and 129 deaths in the past 24 hours. The same 28 provinces remain in critical condition and there’s no plan to contain the virus but making it worse! Hospitals and their staff are exhausted after close to 7 months of struggling with COVID-19 without a single day of rest. And unfortunately, there’s no telling how long this would last, from the looks of it, not soon enough!
Basic Reproduction Rate (R0) and graphs, even though based on highly discredited and engineered numbers provided by the regime’s Ministry of Health, remain the best indicators in spotting the manipulations and the unstoppanle COVID-19 crisis in Iran for more than 198 days! Active cases rose again, and so did critical cases.
