“Infections, admissions deaths are increasing so much, especially in Tehran Metropolis, that hospitals have run out of beds and can’t admit critical cases anymore! If the government doesn’t reimpose restrictions and ban traveling between cities, we will see hospital corridors filled with COVID-19 patients.” This is what Dr Masoud Mardani, a member of National Task Force has said. He emphasized on ignorance of authorities to implement restrictions to break the chain of coronavirus spread! Besides the fact that he’s confirmed all our previous reports, he added, “remote working, closing businesses and crowded places, reassessing people’s use of public transportation system are part of our recommendations.” Dr Mardani continued, Tehran may have to be on lockdown for at least a week!
Dr Zali, head of Tehran Corona Combating Committee, has been warning about the dire situation in capital but unfortunately the people who have the necessary authority apparently don’t care about people’s lives, as it has been established in the past 7+ months. Today, once again, Dr Zali warned about the increasing number of cases, admissions and deaths! According to him, without mentioning any number, the record for daily death toll in Tehran was broken in the past 24 hours. He added in the past 48 hours the number of admissions have reached about 1,000 a day which is very worrisome, including 1,038 since yesterday! He demanded National Task Force to reimpose some restrictions in Tehran province ASAP and said “we shouldn’t waste any time as this would cost people their lives.” But National Task Force, presided by President of Islamic Republic only meets once every week and no actual plan is born out of those meetings!
On the other hand, Iran Nursing Organization also released a statement criticizing the government and their “arbitrary decisions” which have led to more deaths! The organization wrote, “Of the 110,000 nurses in the country, 20,000 have contracted the virus, 5,000 cannot work anymore and 50 have died of COVID-19.” They also have demanded their unpaid wages and benefits to be paid ASAP! The budget for which has been given back to the regime by Health Minister Namaki to prevent any “problems for the regime.”
East Azerbaijan, West Azerbaijan, Khuzestan, Isfahan, Khorasan Razavi, Qom, Alborz, Kerman, Yazd,… all report increasing number of deaths and cases! Reports of shortage of beds and equipment are rampant throughout the country.
Sima Sadat Lari, Ministry of Health Spokesperson, continues to present their sham and undercounted daily stats. Today, she announced 3,582 new confirmed COVID-19 cases and 183 deaths in the past 24 hours. Active cases soaring, critical cases off the charts and average of 182 deaths per day in the past 2 weeks could only sign even worse days ahead of Iranians.
Basic Reproduction Rate (R0) and graphs show the ever growing crisis from more than 7 months ago! Islamic Republic has no plan but to watch people die, suffocate true reporters and deny facts on the ground while boastfully claim they’re “pioneers in fighting corona.”
