While new revelations about Islamic Republic mafia dealing with COVID-19 crisis in Iran have surfaced, the new “administration” keeps pushing for reopening schools and holding Arbaeen gatherings and march to Iraq! Ebrahim Raisi says it all depends on the Iraq government to permit the march, Ilam Governor says people of his province who are on the march path must be vaccinated as soon as possible, and regime’s Foreign Minister discusses the matter to Iraqi PM! All of this when Lambda variant is identified in Turkey, Iraq and India. Dr. Souri, head of “rapid response team” of Ministry of Health requested the Arbaeen march to be canceled for this year! Deputy Head of Biological Defense Organization, believes there is only 1 month time to prevent another massacre and demands the government to speed up the vaccination process. Dr. Kariminia also emphasizes on remdesivir to be an ineffective drug to treat COVID-19 patients, but Ministry of Health, even after Namaki, continues to push it. For instance, in Mashhad, there are 6 clinics specifically for injection of this medication, 24/7!
Questionable, chaotic and slow vaccination continues. However, more vaccination centers in more provinces announce their closures. Khuzestan, Golestan, Isfahan, Kermanshah, Khorasan Razavi, Tehran,… have no vaccine to keep their centers open. But Ebrahim Raisi claims 40 million doses will be imported by September 22, the same promise his Health Minister gave, yesterday!
While health experts believe reopening schools for in-person classes would be a huge mistake and “illogical” considering low rate of vaccination and Delta rampage across Iran, the government officials claim most college students and professors have been vaccinated and should go back to school in person. However, Mashhad Medical University officials announced there has been no directive for immunization of college students! Education Ministry believes the students are not in danger of COVID-19 despite reports of many children being admitted to hospitals with Delta infection.
Meanwhile, Kermanshah‘s cemetery is working around the clock to supply the demand which has broken the records with 12 deaths in a day. And cases continue to increase in Lorestan.
The Ministry of Health claimed 28,843,064 total shots have been administered in Iran since February 9 while only 9,502,679 (11.31% of population) have received both doses of ineffective and questionable vaccines.
The Spokesperson also announced her undercounted and manipulated data. Sima Sadat Lari claimed 515 died of COVID-19 in the past 24 hours and 20,404 tested positive for the novel coronavirus. According to Deputy Health Minister Harirchi, the real numbers are “definitely much higher,” Professor Holakoui believes the official data must be multiplied by 7 and Civil Registration Organization statistics show more than 262,000 Iranians have died of COVID-19 in the past 18+ months. Graphs illustrate the frequent waves of horror Iranians have gone through so far.
